A bit of a strange topic maybe, sorry couldn't think of an appropriate title so this will do...
I have absolutely no clothes other than a couple pairs of black pants (I seriously LIVE in black pants lol) ...and 3 long sleeved nice tops to wear out. Other than that just a couple 3/4 sleeved old tops for around home. We have a chest of drawers, 4 full drawers of clothes for Lucas, all set for winter with nice warm stuff. Me I barely fill one drawer, I have nothing and I don't know where to start. So my question is (and bearing in mind I don't do second hand clothes) ...where can I get some nice cheap skivvy's and jumpers/warm sweatshirts from atm? ...I have a budget, and well haven't really left myself enough money to buy clothes but I obviously don't want to freeze 
What does everyone else wear in winter around home? I sooo don't do fashion, I go for practicality and good deals. I have my three going out tops and thats all i need (so i apologise in advance if you see me wearing the same things HAHA) Any advice appreciated TIA ------------- Single Mum to a darling wee boy of 3 years :) |

Shanton is pretty affordable too and they do some quite nice stuff.

Warehouse is great. I have bought a few basic tops from there.
You could also try Glassons, ezibuy and farmers when they are on sale. Look for cheap merino, polar fleece and brushed cotton for colder months. -------------

Have you got any underwear outlets nearby? I have got a couple of cheap merino singlets ($10 each) and it means you dont need to wear too much over top around home. Also warehouse has some good long sleeve polyprop tops which I just wear layered under a tshirt, so then I am getting more wear out of summer tops. ------------- Aimee Hannah 22/10/05 Greer 11/02/08 |

my *uniform* is basically jeans and a long sleeve top under a vest or singlet top of some sort lol. warehouse has some great stuff at the moment, def go there - the sooner the better before it all gets picked over. ------------- Lyla - mum to Xanthe -  my big 4 year old

Blerk, polar fleece, if you have any self love, woman, do not slop around the house in polar fleece!!!!!!!!!! its my pet hate!!! (sorry to offend!) Merino is affordable, layerable and a much nicer alternative to polar fleece...however, you could get a micro fleece jacket (the small fleece) and make it a zip all the way jobbie, so you aren't tempted to wear it like a sweatshirt! lol. (hate polar fleece sweat tops with a passion!)
I live in cheap long sleeve fitteds from just jeans 9$40 for 2) and layer with tunics, etc 3/4 groucho pants in a variety of materials are warm with tights and boots for winter, have got some nice jeans and grauchos (wide leg 3/4 pants) from ezi buy, also shantons and farmers? Warehouse has some really nice stuff ATM. ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

I bought a couple of fine knit merino long sleeved jumpers for $30each from ezibuy and just put my casual/summer tops on top of that for around the house. Means that the around house tops can still get messy without too much goop going on the nicer warmer top underneath. Outside just put on a cardigan (nice cardigans not old lady cardis lol) and a jacket/coat. Layer, layer, layer.
Will be checking out the warehouse though as i like the maya and kate madison (big girl) ranges. |

Thanks ladies for all your suggestions, looks like we will be going shopping very soon (although I might try and leae the boy at home with mum, he's not my favorite shopping buddy atm lol)
Warehouse clothes do seem to be a lot classier nowadays and reasonably priced too. Can't wait to have a warm sweater mmmm ------------- Single Mum to a darling wee boy of 3 years :) |

I bought some great merino tops from Glassons the other day, and some cheap lycra(ish) tops from there as well - great for under things or even on their own.

K-Mart in palmy have some sweat tops and pants for $10ea! Great for around home.
And of course I type this in my polar fleece jersey from the Warehouse from last year I know it's not all that great looking, but it's comfy and warm and I'm at home by myself!!------------- |
