We have a cat door in a large window in our lounge. The cats must have come flying through pretty fast and now the window is badly cracked - we are pretty sure any light tap will shatter it - ewww and there was a very large rat in the hallway so maybe they were wrestling with it to get it inside
Anyway we are renting but I was just looking at my isurance docs from our old house insurance and broken windows are fixed free with no excess. Do you think it would be cheeky to ask our landlord to fix it? It shouldn't cost him anything.... but it is our fault. I have already booked in a glazier for this arvo as I'm scared Ashleigh is going to break it and cut herself.

I'd just mention it to the landlord and see what his reaction is. He may just offer to pay for it if he's a nice landlord since it could be claimed on insurance.

Some insurance companies to not offer that to house owners...may pay to check with them.

I've had to break windows to get in twice and both times it was covered by the LL's insurance so def worth checking. And in my case it was my fault and I was totally prepared to pay but they were all good.

if you have house insurance yourself then that will cover it...ours did when we rented...i know alot of renters dont have that though.....i have insurance for the house i rent and it covers it, if it was an accident dont see why the LL would be upset
