arghh I am feeling rather frustrated..lol stupid weather takes ages for our clothes to dry.
we dont have a dryer or even a garage just a carport and even hanging them under there wont get them dry quickly if the weather is not too good. at the moment I have about 3 loads of washing waiting to be hung out plus about 2-3 loads on the line which still is not dry. I just sent DH an email saying that I think it is about time we bought a dryer. lets hope he sees reason enough for us to get one. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I have just got DH to bring our dryer up from the shed. We have never used it in this house - but with baby clothes, it is hard to keep up!!
Of course, will be intersting to see the impact on our power bill...  ------------- Mum to two beautiful kids

As long as you keep on top of your bills (pay a little each week if you can) it's actually not too bad Bel
We don't usually use ours but with the weather being cruddy we use it at least twice a day lately... -------------

the dryer (at least for us) doesnt make a difference to the power bill..we used it heaps last month and bill still 110ish.. ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

yeah I have heard that new dryers are more energy efficient that older ones and we would want to get a new one cause of warrantees etc. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I am in the same boat and I have a garage but still end up drying in dryer as there is no wind flow. Don't you just love Hamilton!!!
Do you have dehumidifier? My Aunty dries her stuff inside in front of that. |

We used our dehumidifier for a while as we had it on anyway. It worked great. I have the same issue...(now we have a HRV and don't use the dehumidifier) I put our laundry on clothes racks and put them in front of our ranchslider where they get the morning sun. Do you have a hot water cupboard. I hang washing out first thing in morning, then make sure to get it in around 3pm. It then gets folded and put in the hot water cupboard until the next days load needs to go in. ------------- http://www.bump-and-beyond.com/">

Ugh I hate the chinese laundry look but it was a necessity all last winter. We don't have a drier either, and wouldn't have anywhere to put one if we did. This year our lounge is smaller and it'd be impossible to dry a couple of loads, so DH built a wooden clothes rack that sits up by the ceiling over the fire, and moves up & down with a pulley.
