I've decided it's time to clean the laptop up and put all my files onto disc to be safe. But with this I've also decided I'd LOVE to make a little movie out of all my fave photos & video clips of Lucas (espesh the ones of him hitting diff milestones). I have Windows Movie Maker on here (YAY) so I'm hoping this will do the trick. Can't wait to get started on this project and then get it on DVD for the family.

Now I need song ideas for the background music ...something related to kids & how much I love my boy.

I'm hopeless at thinking of songs and their lyrics - can anyone help?

Ideas please

I used some baby dub music for one I made and it fitted well. I have found it hard to think of music so will be interested in others ideas.

I picked songs for my girls before they were born that are "their" songs, we played them at their christenings, but they are kind of girly songs. Maya's is "I hope you dance" by Leeann Womack and the gremlins is "Life of your Life" by Rebecca Lavelle. Thinking of going waaaay out there with this one and having "Sweet Child Of Mine" by G n R tho...

Is there any song that Lucas seems to really like Steph? Caitlyn's favourite song is Rainbow connection (er but with me singing it, not Kermit the frog)

http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=3CE3bfKAOmU&feature=related - Celine Dion Beautiful Boy

Lovely song, this is the first song that sprung to mind. Celine uses the line 'mummy's here' as opposed to Lennons 'daddy's here' You might be able to find another version.

Are you after something upbeat or mellow. I've made a mini clip of B's progressive movements and used Jack Johnsons Sitting Waiting..

have pmd you, but thougt I would publicly add this one to the list

Lucas has crap taste in music tbh. He LOVES that Leona Lewis 'Bleeding love' song ...umm little einsteins theme, Mickey Mouse clubhouse songs, and the BNZ piggy bank advert music lol.

So far the only songs I had thought of (prior to posting the thread) were Roxette's 'Listen to your heart' & Monica's 'Angel of mine'.

Monica mouse kindly suggested 'Always be my baby' Mariah Carey (I love that song) ...and I quite like the idea of researching Cat Stevens songs. Thanks everyone for your suggestions thus far. I will probably need 4-5 songs as it's going to be a very long home movie (we are talking near 1500 photos and 100 video clips to chop and edit).

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Right off to clean laptop now, need to speed it up before I even contemplate trying to work with videos and photos.

I love John Lennon's Beautiful Boy and Cat Steven's Father and Son. I am getting FIL to do a dvd of the boys and they are having those songs behind it.

And I'm only 26 and I  Cat Steven's. There is nothing like drving down Queen St in the city and having all the windows open in the car and 4 18 year old in the car with Cat very loud on the stereo!!!!

Is there anything you sung to Lucas a lot when he was little?

How about:

* Baby mine (from Dumbo and Beaches)
* Circle of life (from The Lion King)
* All my life (The Beatles)

There's a couple of Disney compilation CDs with some great songs on them - you could probably borrow them from the library.

My friend played Arms Wide Open at her wee boy's funeral, it always makes me cry when I hear it.

Hey

I had a hard time thinking of songs.  But I googled 'songs for photo montages/slideshows' and got heaps of ideas. Will try and find the websites.

These are the songs that DF put into the video of our sons first few days ( was my Mother's Day gift)
