Kandice, I have a feeling that a Farmers card is like a credit card and purchases have to be signed for by the cardholder??? Any one know whether this is true?

I would hate for you to get there and be dissapointed!

U generally have to make purchases ON the card to recieve a discount but if you have run out of credit on the card they will often allow you to use your eftpos card or cash but the name has to match the card. Im not sure if they will be that kind with a discount like 50% though so you would have to ask.
Also u cant use someone elses card as it is a credit card

It was cool when I worked there because staff were allowed to get the discount without having a farmers card hehe

my sisters coming with me so i can use her farmers card.....annoying as i was just there a month ago when they had their 30% sale and spent $130 on clothes for the kids! could've saved heaps more if it was 50%.....oh well....jack needs a few things that i've been trying to get on TM, but now i'll be able to get stuff brand new for the same price, possibly cheaper!

Yeah whenever they had them when my parents where here I would go shopping with mum and she would pay for it with her card, then I would give her the money and then put money on her card.

Am not 100% sure but think that you can go to the sale and sign up for a card and get the discount on that day. I did that about a year ago and got the discount and they never sent the card. A lady from plunket group - also did this when they had a good sale on nursery stuff about 2 months ago and she got the discount and they never sent the card so could be worth a try.

I think I'll be doing it

You only fill out the forms to get the discount and then if they check it out and deny you, you have already brought your items at the discount price.

You could give it a go!! Just be oblivious like u dont know the sale is on and they should do it for you. I would suggest making the hold and saying you will pick it up Friday then go in on Thursday and get it lol.

You cant hold on the day of the sale though

My Nana took us shopping & we spent $150 opps (grandparents shouted us BUT I'm going to do some chores around the house for her to pay her back ...stubborn woman wouldn't take my money)

Got a new highchair for $49 AND a top for myself and some more clothes for little man (woolly singlets, footed PJ's ...warm jumpers etc). He's all geared up for winter now.

They must make so much money out of cardholder sales BUT ...the baby clothes are so dirt cheap when 50% off so surely they are losing out somewhere ...

Either that or they pay next to nothing for the clothes and a one day sale like that wouldnt make a difference? Makes me wish i was preggaz so i could have an excuse to spend more. I just picked everything i liked in size 1 and 2.. including socks lol. So kylahs got clothes for the next 2 years +

I spent $67 on Zaara's cloths...I didnt actually like that many things....I guess I am fussy. Then I bought some flannel sheets for Zaara's bed for $30 (it was half price). And the $67 includes a pair of Crosby boots for Zaara too.

I was looking at the NB stuff...but MIL was with me and she thinks buying for baby before it is born is BAD LUCK!!

Oh well no harm in looking!

My MIL said that she is paying for the Bed sheets and half of the cloths so I only have to pay her $35 bucks...YAY!! I should do this often....

I went totally overboard but the good news is that now DD is totally sorted for winter. Didn't like too much of what they had left here either (went at the end of the day) and they had no singlets left - boo! But got some pants and tops and a cool jersey for her. Just washing them all now and will restock her drawers soon. Sigh - what will I do when she's old enough to chose her own clothes and I can't dress her up anymore?

We went and signed up too. It was great. We're now all sorted for winter and that's no mean feat with 5 of us and a nearly average income (x1!).

What really shocked me though was that DH allowed me to go and shop for him. That is, I went and chose about 4 different t-shirts, jerseys and pants for him to try and he basically camped out in the changing rooms for 50 mins!! Can you believe that?!? He's come away with some pretty nice stuff that he said he would never have tried. And the jerseys he had picked out are now waiting for someone else LOL
