Hi everyone!

I know that your not meant to give egg white till babies are 1, does that count for baking? I was thinking of making vege fritters, mini muffins that kind of thing for finger foods but will take the egg white out if its going to be dodgy

I think you would be fine with it in things like that. Maybe not the vege fritters but the other stuff sweet.

I've heard that cooking the egg in proper baking (like cakes and muffins) changes the composition.

However, having a daughter that was anaphylactic to egg for the first 4 years of her life has made me more paranoid than most. Second time around I'll be using "egg sub" in all baking that I give to the new baby. Egg Sub works wonders and you wouldn't know that there was supposed to be real egg in it.

You can buy Egg Sub from supermarkets and specialty stores.

Samara is allergic to eggs and is 9 months - can I use the egg sub now or do I wait until she is a bit older?
