I had it from 6 weeks till Leah was born last time, this time it was gone thankfully by 20 weeks. Felt the worst in the mornings though and still struggle to eat before 10am, don't feel sick, just don't want anything.

I found ice cold water or pineapple juice and plastic processed cheese (don't ask me why!!!) helped.

A friend of mine was like you but she would be sick everytime she woke during the night as well, but hers stopped at 13 weeks so hopefully yours won't last too long.

Good luck, just remember its worth it in the end!!

When I first got pregnant that's exactly what my morning sickness was like. Then I graduated to all day nausea and vomitting until about 24-26 weeks. You've probably heard of all the potential remedies so I'm not sure anything I can offer will be of help...um...your midwife can always prescribe maxalon - it's safe in pregnancy and some people find it really helpful (I didn't). I also tried acupuncture and I think that helped for short periods at a time.

Oh - LisaD - I also ate a huge amount of processed cheese slices - usually not my thing at all! I wonder if we're onto something

Heili - hopefully it won't last for too long. I can't think of anything else except I'm thinking of you - it's a horrible feeling but hang in there.

I was hideously sick from about 5 days after conception til Joshua was born. Some of us are just totally unlcuky and have to deal with it for our entire pregnancy. Big hugs, and hope you cope ok if it does not subside.

I found prescribed anti-nausea tablets the only thing that helped. Frozen apple juice was kinda nice though.

Good luck!

Unfortunately it is all normal - you can get it anytime in the day or night when your blood sugar is lower. I suggest eating small snacks all day if you need to, inbetween meals as well.

If it gets chronic or you are feeling like you cant cope with it anymore I suggest trying something herbal from your health shop like Blackmores morning sickness formula. I was at my wits end in both pregnancies - especially this one as I felt like I was having double the morning sickness - vomiting 8-10 times a day and everything. Blackmores worked for me while other herbal supplements have worked for other people. Talk to your midwife about it if you need to and see what they suggest.

I agree with everyone else.
But wanted to add....you are LUCKY its only for a few hrs!!! And at the end of the day when hopefully you can relax a bit more rather than during the day.
With all mine, I had it all day!

Hi Heili,

I totally agree, they should call it 'All day sickness' shouldn't they!

From week 5 I was very very sick all day, every day until week 26. I found plain white rice, mandarins and the yellow flavoured powerade were the only things I could eat. (Great for the figure!?!?) Towards the end, about week 20 onwards I could stomach rockmelon, plain cooked chicken, ginger beer and gingernut biscuits. Even water was off the menu!! I also listened to my body and worked out that between 2pm and 3pm I felt my best so planned to get heaps done between those times. (When I say 'best' I mean the best of the worse I felt if you know what I mean?)

The doctor can put you on a drip to rehydrate you if it gets really bad. I also tried sea sickness bands on my wrists. Maxalon medication from the doctor does stop you from throwing up but I still felt like being sick.

Don't worry about the baby, the baby will take all it needs to grow and develop from your body and leave you with the rest. My son Lincoln is a perfectly happy content baby and as LisaD says it is all worth it in the end.

Hang in there and rest when you can!

I forgot to mention - while you are having morning sickness - try to remember that it is your body telling you that baby is developing well.

Sick all day every day here, still throwing up every day and I'm 31 weeks. Not expecting it to stop till delivery like it did the last two times. I was so bad I ended up in hospital being drip fed at one point

So yep, feel your pain!
