Have been trying to buy a pair a boots, but I just cant find any that I can zip up. Does anyone else have this problem, its not like I'm even that big, and I tried last year pre-baby and after getting to lifetime at WW and still couldnt find any! Found another pair of really cool shoes instead but they didnt have my size! The problems with only having one shoe shop in town.

LOL I was so excited when I found a pair I could zip up in a shop in Oz that I bought them in brown and black. That was pre gremlins tho, I couldn't zip them up now

Yep, I had this problem until I was in London and found a shop that sold really cool boots with 'wide calf' so I bought them there and then and are not likely to ever get rid of them! (got them about 4.5 years ago now )

Still, that doesn't really help you with finding any that zip up here in NZ does it

My mum has that problem with boots, I think she just hunted and hunted until she found some. She said something about putting some on layby the other day, must be from Hannahs.

I find the ones that are slightly stretchy the best co I like to tuck my jeans/leggings into my boots.

Yup I have the same issue...even when I was a size 8-10 I had the same problem...sucks big time!!

Wider calf ones would be good! I normally just buy lace up or stretch ones.

Same problem here too!

I bought a pair last winter at #1 shoe warehouse.
They are the only pair of boots/shoes I have bought from there that haven't fallen apart after a few wears

Man I have the opposite problem. They don't stay where I want them to and so I get the baggy ankle look which annoys the crap out of me. My No1 shoe warehouse boots seem to be bigger around the calf than others. But some of my hannahs ones have some elastic pleat looking things on the inside of the calves giving them waaaay more give.

Never have had issues with boots... lace ups?? I haven't worn zip up boots for a while though... I'm too tall to get away with high heels really

I have a friend that has the same problem (although hers is because she got DVT from the Pill and her calves have been left severly enlarged). She bought some boots and took them to a shoe doctor/repairer person and he inserted a strip of elastic on the inside of the legs of them for about $30!

You can't even tell that it wasn't part of the original style of the boots!

I buy zip up ones with elastic inserts too, quite common these days I thought...

Change that to I USED TO BUY... before we had kids and mortgage and one income etc. etc.

There is a shoe repairer in Auckland who can stretch boots (or insert elastic) and various other fixes .. Ive taken a couple of pairs there.

Maybe you have something similar in your area.

Hmmm, never thought of that. I think it just means I need to go on a shopping trip to Palmy to find the right ones that fit!

When in england, ended up in bath and found the most fabulous shop that does boots in 20 different calf fittings. I bought two pairs and had bought another pair online for delivery within the uk.

They are at www.duoboots.com , promotional boots are the most reasonably priced on the website. Send them an enquiry and ask how much to send to NZ (if they do). Could be cheaper than actually buying them here?

I must admit, I normally find even with the elastic pleat bit most of them don't do up!
