I think your doctor is wrong Danaj. Online does say 27th Jan, give or take a day.

The process my doctor used (cannot remember the name she uses) was you count 9 months from first day of af, and add 7 days. If this was used, your date would be Jan 29th. Which when she did mine it was also 2 days later like yours!
But your doctor saying 4 Feb It's only a few days out (a weeks!)...I wonder what method he used?

I also calculate 27th January. Thats 40 weeks from your last period.

Do normaly ovulate later in your cycle, is your cycle normally 28 days? I dont ovulate until day 21-25 due to a 5-6 week cycle so that pushes me back a week or so.

Either way, your baby will be an aquarius, unless its born before Jan 22nd.

Congratulations Danaj.

Congrats Lyndsayjane! hope all goes well at the doctors tomorrow. I will be going for blood test #3 tomorrow so hope all is going well. This website has been so helpful so far, so many questions and with it being "secret" it helps to read and share your experiences    Can any of the ladies share their experience with exercise in these early days? would like to continue to go running but do not want to put anything at risk (also....what do I tell my friend if I had to I break our running date?)

Wellllllll, I have been holding off posting so far coz I'm so paranoid it's all in my head But got FOUR BFPs last week and went to see my doc today - he said he didn't think there was any need to do a fifth test LOL. But took bloods and urine sample, not sure when I find out how those are looking?

He reckons I'm due Feb 5th --    Definitely hasn't sunken in yet. We only started trying last month!

PS - Hi I'm a newbie, kiwi living overseas. Hopefully growing baby #1

Hey all... well hopefully this baby sticks around, just a faint positive at the moment, hopefully will get stronger when i test again tomorrow, then the fun starts.
I understand KiwisJ: I still feel paranoid myself... dont wanna tell anyone just in case.
Due 11 feb 2009.
I must admit it is GREAT to be able to change my ticker!

Welcome to Feb Rashika :)

Kat70, re running - my doctor said it's cool to keep doing what you've been doing ... just don't do it to exhaustion. I haven't been for a run in over a week (too tired!) but am meant to be playing soccer tonight ... will see how I go!

MS kicked in yesterday a bit - but it's all evening rather than the mornings. At least I can get out and about during the day and have an afternoon snooze before I start feeling revolting ;)

Hope all you other Feb mums are feeling good today!

Posted By: Konagirl
Date Posted: 04 June 2008 at 8:16am
Kat70 - my understanding is like what Kiwisj said, to do what you feel you are capable of doing. I run and did a bit of reading about it and exercise is good to help with the nerves around early preg but if you get exhausted earlier then you would normally then walking might be better. In terms of your friend you run with for me I'm going to tell people as I'm going to be so happy once I get preg. But do what feels right for you.
Good luck everyone! Am so so hoping I get to join this tread in the next few days.

Well i have to say very nerviously and quietly i had a positive test this morning so we are over the moon.

My boy is nearly 7 months old so i am going to be very busy. I also have had a m/c before my last pregnancy so that adds to the nerves. I was beside myself last time with worry and think that although Connor is with us now i will still be a bundle of nerves. I think i may actually have to join in this time because last time i was more a lurker in the due thread.

I dont know yet when i am due because my last period was FEB last year but i am presumimg it will be a feb bubs.

hiya pip1! Nice to see ya

It does make it easier to talk at times, hard when you aren't really that chatty, but its nice to share the worries and know that most people here will be going thru similar nerves. And sometimes they come up with some pearlers that just make your day!

Arrgghhh ... am feeling rotten today - sick this morning, really tired and a nasty nasty headache this afternoon. Luckily I'm not working at the moment so I can take it easy .. although that's not going to last long unfortunately!

Hope all you other Feb mums-to-be are having a great Wednesday.

Thanks for the advice on running! - kiwisj I hope Soccer went okay! I did decide to do this run with my friend and felt really good during and after it - you are right, it does make you feel good, even if you are feeling a bit 'hormonal' or teary, it is good to get out for a bit of a run. I ended up telling my friend (as I had to tell her I couldn't do a half marathon in a few weeks - phew got outta that!!

Anyway, my friend was over the moon for me, but mostly concerned I cannot drink wine with her for some time! ...

No ms for me yet and while I dont' wish it to happen it does worry me a bit. Got results from hcg tests - today level was 3000 on Friday, 18,000 from yesterday...so I think there is quite a bit of crazy growth there!

Hey Kat70 - thanks soccer was great! Definitely felt better for going. I figure I might as well give it a go while I still can - better than feeling miserable on the couch at home

Beachy that is how i got found out the 1st time, i had my friends hens party at 6 weeks preggy and was a big drinker before than so alot or people knew straight away and the fact i fell asleep on the bus diddnt help me either.

I may get away with it a bit longer this time cos i am still b/f

Kat70 I think those levels sound great.

Hi to those who have joined this 'month' !
I'm in both January and February threads as I am due around the 27th Jan... but who knows... I may end up with a Feb baby!!

Anyway, yes, I am constantly tired. I seem to flag around 3pm-ish and have to go to bed around 9pm ish (I'm usually a bit of a night-owl). But the problem is that I'm not sleeping through... waking at least twice through the night. Grrr!

I am rather tired also, but i have a 7month old to keep me busy.
I am very lucky that he sleeps thru (at the mo) but the last 2 nights i have been unable to sleep before 12 and am awake at 6 so not quite getting my quota.

Omigosh Beachy, I SO know what you mean! I need a lie down in the afternoon as well and DH often isn't home from work till around 8 (or sometimes 9) and that's around about when I am ready for bed again! My nightly loo stops are creeping up - at least a couple of times a night for me too

Congratulations on your BFP fingerscrossed all the best for the next 8 months!

My MIL asked today what's my due date and I said it's Feb 5 (according to the doc) but I reckon I'm having a Valentine's Day bubba So that's officially my guess!!!! (8 months out haha).

Thanks Rashika and congrats to you! (and to the other Feb ladies!) I am just over 6 weeks now.   Had to tell another friend last night as our weekly wine catch ups will have to be lime and soda or something equally as interesting! Congratulations everyone! I thought I'd join you as I'm due about Feb 5th
I'm already starting to get very anxious about this pregnancy, we lost our baby girl last year at 24 weeks which has been very difficult. I'll be getting extra care through this pregnancy which hopefully will be reassuring. I'm trying to focus on enjoying the pregnancy rather than worrying, I'm even starting to look forward to the morning sickness, although I bet that will change once it kicks in!!!

Hi everyone.. and welcome nztui...
I am just so happy at the moment. Today I walked round on my lunch break with a stupid grin on my face.

Couple of questions... are you girls going to find out whether you are having a boy or girl?

And is anyone getting specialist care?

Posted By: Beachy
Date Posted: 06 June 2008 at 7:27pm
Ok, so after a 6 week scan earlier today, it turns out I may be giving birth to a February baby after all.

Apparently the little foetus is too small to detect a heartbeat at the moment.... so I am going back for another scan next week. The woman doing the scan said that according to the size of the pregnancy sac and the foetus, she would say I am only 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant, rather than 6 weeks and 3 days.

Aww, it's a bummer when you go back a week!!

nztui - Welcome!! That's so sad bout losing your wee girl last year All the best for these next few months, must be scarier for you this time round

Beachy - ahhh! rats that you're back a week! Those few days seem like so many at the moment huh. We haven't told many ppl yet, just parents and a couple of friends who I see nearly every day, waiting for 12 weeks for the rest and it seems SO FAR AWAY!

DH wants to find out whether we're having boy/girl .. I'm not convinced at the moment but no real strong reason why not, so might do when it comes down to it.

I'm in Asia and you don't see a midwife here, you see an Ob/Gyn the whole way through (I am currently looking into hospitals and docs to see who I want to be referred to by my GP). Lots of people seem to hire a doula here (I guess because no personal MW care?) .... I'm thinking about it but not sure ....

Yay! It's Friday today - means I get to see my DH at last. All week I have been in bed almost before he gets home from work, it's ridiculous!

Enjoy the weekend everyone

I am still waiting for a dating scan so have no idea how far along i am at this stage but am guessing about 6 weeks which may put me in the jan thread but i guess we have to wait and see.

We will be finding out again because we did last time . My husband said he was not debating over both boy and girl names when we only need to debate over one.
Where i live we have the option of GP care which is lovely cos the gp was fantastic last time and i plan to use him again this time..

Morning Everyone! you know you are getting hooked when you start to log in at 9.30 on a Saturday morning !

Husband just did toast and coffee for me, toast had marmite on it which is usually my favourite....ah, today it tastes like ground metal! still feel okay though, no sickness. On the coffee thing, I am still having the occasional cup a day but no more. What is everyones thoughts? I am not hooked on the stuff, but also a bit scared of what herbal teas I can drink - I think raspberry might be the only no no.

Beachy, bummer about being a week behind but reckon time is gonna fly so quickly once we all start to show (eek)

As far as specialists go, I don't see my GP again for another 2 weeks so I dont' have any scans booked in at this stage. But she did say that she wants me to see a specialist I think because of my age and maybe cos I had some major abdom. surgery a few years back.

Oh yes, sorry, me again! At this stage we are not going to find out what we are having...There are a lot of boys in our family (nephews) but you know the saying "as long as its healthy"...

Hi guys.

Have had the full on metallic taste in my mouth today, and CRAZY dreams last night. Its amazing what goes on so early!

I think the odd coffee is ok, but saying that I have taken to having decaf.

I like Roobos (or Red Bush) tea. Its great cos it is herbal, but you can have it with milk and it is much closer to normal tea.

They just don't make a lot of sense! Thank god they're are just dreams!!

Beacuse my partner lives in Australia still (he'll be here in around 6-8 weeks), I sent him a photo taken at the scan. Even though the foetus is very faint, I circled it for him, so he could see hehe

Now he's aboslutely besotted!
He even had a 'moment' with a tear in his eye last night when watching the end of the film "Notting Hill" ... when Hugh Grant's character rubs Julia Robert's character's very pregnant tum. hehe... so cute

Hurrah! Looks like morning sickness is starting! Feels so perverse to be pleased about this though
Anyone feeling queasy during the day at work? I'm trying to keep this quiet at work but wonder how that will go if I have to suddenly rush off to the loo all the time....hehehe

Kat - not sure about the coffee but I'm sticking to decaf as well if I need it. I know drinking tea with meals can stop your body absorbing iron - maybe coffee is similar?

Hi ladies.

I had been having problems with my cycle length although the reason for my last long cycle has now become very clear.

I am due between 20 Jan -04 February with our first. VERY exciting.

I live in the North Waikato however want to give birth at Waikato Hospital so am now looking for a midwife in the Hamilton/Waikato area.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a million questions so it's great to have this site for all the support when you can't tell 'anyone' yay yay yay.

Hey Running T.. welcome to Feb mums to be! SO excited as well. Bring on your questions.. good to hear what others are thinking about. I am in Auckland so not sure about Waikato MW but I'm sure some of the others will be able to help. How have you been feeling so far?

Hi Fingerscrossed.

Yay... finally someone to talk to after having to keep mum with EVERYONE.

I just booked a midwife. She works halfway between my home town and Hamilton so I can visit her at her rooms, give birth in Hamilton and she says she can come to my home town afterwards. I felt really calm with her on the phone which I hadn't done with anyone else.

Now I just need an excuse for my boss to take an afternoon off work to meet her. :-)

Hi everyone

I am due on 8 Feb 09, all very new to me - so are these forums. Just got it confirmed by the doc today. HCG is 5987 and am 5 weeks and 2 days. Had a MC a couple of months ago so am very nervous. Congrats to all the other Feb mummies

Running T.. I know what you mean - so hard to keep quiet. That sounds positive about your midwife. When do you think you will tell your work?

Mel&Kel - Hello!!!   I know exactly how you feel. Had a miscarriage two months ago. Got pregnant again really quickly so was thrilled but so hard not to be nervous. I was only 6 weeks along so hoping I will feel better once I pass that milestone. I feel really positive though, and I guess thats all you can do. Where do you live?

Sorry just realised it says you live in wellington. Is it to early to claim baby brain? Me thinks so!

By the way your HCG levels are nice and high which is a good sign

Yeah I am trying to keep positive too. Yip Wellington, where are you from?

Thanks about the HCG levels, I know they double every two days but don't really know what is good/normal for 5 weeks.

I googled 'HCG levels in pregnancy' and i found a table that showed average ranges for each week. Yours are high.. It did say that it is different for each woman and that the main thing is how it is increasing.
I am in Auckland. Have you told anyone? We have just told family and a couple of really close friends.

Any sickness etc? I haven't yet and am really hoping it continues because my mum had a really bad time with us.

Hey
We have told parents and most of the bros and sisters. Finding it really hard as work is really social with drinking etc all the time and I have meetings where they provide sammies with deli meats...
I feel motion sick a bit but nothing really major. Have lots of tenderness which I have never had before, finding it quite uncomfy!!

Hi Running T and Mel&Kel! Congratulations on joining the Feb Mums to be!!!

Wow Running T, so you don't need a prize for your "52 day cycle" after all That's fantastic. I'm another 1st timer, it's all very exciting hey

I guess MS is starting for me ... woke up a couple of nights ago feeling gross, but mostly it hits me in the afternoons. Then again, not feeling so flash right now either (and it's not quite 9am here). Ugh. Still, got to be good for you right ... means somethings happening in there LOL

fingerscrossed, I hear you on the uncomfortable jeans. I'm already down to ONE pair!?! And only 6 weeks

Am starting a new job this morning, bit of bad timing really, don't want to say anything yet but mightn't have a choice if this icky feeling doesn't go away! Mind you, I suppose they don't know me well enough to realise I am looking a bit green hey!

Hi Kiwisj

Thanks for the welcome. Yeap I guess I am not entitled to a prize. I thought last weekend I deserved a prize for not bopping a old workmate over the head who asked me "are you still barren?"

I am feeling fine at the moment no MS or feeling tired.... yet.

I told my boss today because I felt really stink telling lies about my last two doctors appointments and my appointment with my midwife tomorrow. My boss asked why did people get pregnant when she started working at each place she goes to. I said if I had her to thank for B2B then I am happy to do so... although dh probably played a part too.

Where are you based and what day are you due?

Hey

I am based in Singapore, but I found my way here from a wedding website, just got married a couple of months ago (back in NZ). It's good being on here and having ppl to "chat" to without having to tell ppl here I'm pregnant (or boring my two girlfriends I have told to death with my moaning about feeling ill and tired!).

I worked out my due date as Feb 3, but with my same dates my doctor worked out Feb 5. I reckon the baby won't arrive till Valentine's Day though

Omigosh, how cheeky saying "are you still barren?"    That really takes the biscuit I have to say!

So will you have a scan soon to work out your dates more closely, Running T?

Evening everyone

When clothes start to not fit do you buy maternity clothes straight away or just buy bigger clothes until you have a proper bump showing?

I have put some weight on in the last 6 months so my clothes are fitting pretty well at the moment (in other words a bit tight), this means that soon I wont fit them at all... it is a bit of a worry!!!

not sure really.. maybe buy some stretchy tops that are a style that you can wear as you get a bump... eg babydoll styles?
Not sure about pants/skirts..

Hows everybody feeling? I felt yucky mid afternoon but survived it. Don't think tuna sits very well with me at the moment!

no real MS for me, just the tired feelings in the arvo, and i was shattered last night, slept solidly and woke up like I hadn't slept at all this morning.
Of to the doc today to get a referral to the Fetal medicine unit at Chch, they will look after me till the tests are done 11-12 weeks. They were simply awesome last time, wish I could see them throughout the PG. Wasn't so happy with my MW so will be trying to get another this time.
Clothes: I had just started to buy stuff at 11-12 weeks last time, tops were ok it was more trousers. Kmart actually have quite a good selection, reasonably priced. Good thing about winter is that you can wear looser/bulkier clothing without arousing suspicion.
It really comes down to how your clothes are fitting. A lot of Maternity stuff doesn't even look it, and there is a good fashion at the moment of loose long tops, nice to cover up.
