Theres a girl on another forum that I go onto that is currently going thru the process at the moment.  I've often thought about it too, because we've finished our family now and it would be a good feeling to help someone.  I wouldn't want to know who I was helping though.

I'd like to do it when I've finished having my family. I guess the decision of knowing or not knowing the people would be hard

One of my friends did it a couple of times. She said the first time wasn't too bad but the second was painful. You do have to inject hormones into you so you release more eggs (as they take more than one). Both sets of parents she helped went on to have babies. She knows who they are by name but not close or anything).. I think one set had twins and trying again to have another baby with her left over eggs that they froze. I just think its a wonderful thing she did for those parents..shes just amazing.

I've considered it. I would want to know just so I knew the kids in case our kids 'met' them later on in life- not necessarily on a close basis but enough to prevent any of them dating I'm going to look into it further when we get back to NZ.

I have thought about it and would want to do it all when I have everything removed.

I would want to know the name of the children for the same reason as Jenna as I wouldn't want our children to end up together.

lol Liz!

I thought that you have to know who its goes to,..or at least that they are able to track you down so they can contact you about med history etc. Is this not true?

I've thought about doing this too once our family is complete. Hopefully I won't be too old by then.

i've been seriously thinking about this lately......we've completed our family and knowing the struggles that some people have to get pregnant, i'd love to be able to help out if i could.

i 'think' i would want to know about the child that i helped someone to have and would like to get pics at b'days perhaps, but i think that's one of those 'don't know til you go through it' kinda situations.

anyone know where you can get more info on being a donor?

I think you could get in touch with Fertility Assoc or Fertility + in AK.
