I saw them talking on the Breakfast show about it this morning...NZ has a really high rate of coeliac disease, apparently.

6 members of my family have been diagnosed (only 8 have been tested) we suspect it might be carried on by both my parents sides of the family (and possibly both mums parents sides too) since you are supposed to only have a 10% chance of having it if another family member has it.
If you see any special recipes or anything this week during coeliac awareness please post it in the recipe section if you have the time.

Apparently it's prevalent in those with celtic ancestory so it may be because many NZers are from celtic bloodlines.
