What's YOUR favourite song from the 70's/80's?

I'm a HUGE fan of older music but I'm really bad with names of songs/artists.

Add your fave to the list...I'll start off with a few

Mr Big - To Be With You
Bonnie Tyler- Total Eclipse of the heart
Roxette - Listen to your heart

-------------
Single Mum to a darling wee boy of 3 years :)

The Bangles, man I forgot about them...

This thread has brought back some memories....

DH is a red head and we were watching stars in their eyes and he asked who he should be and i said Rick Astley... he wasnt impressed.

Who did sign, sealed, delivered??? Was it Terence Trent Darby....

Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy (this is what DH wanted me to walk down the aisle to )

'We used to walk down by the river
She loved to watch the sun go down
We used to walk down by the river
And dream a way out of this town"

Shame on you!! How could you micx them up? I though you confused him with Richard Marx not my still beloved Bryan Adams! (yup still a fan - not quite so hard core but still a fan!! Almost touched him at a concert by the way, high point of my life!)

Did Bryan Adams do "I said I loved you but I lied"? or was that good ole singing poodle boy as well?

I wouldn't consider November Rain a power ballad tho, to me it's more rock.

Was it the theme song from the 3 musketeers that he did Sting (oh the POLICE, roxanne.....) and someone other guy I cant remember

I would put November Rain as a Power Ballad, its no way rock the usual gunners stuff IMO.

Dammit, 0 from 2!

As for G n R, they are odd coz they have two completely different sets of songs, there's the ballady ones like Nov Rain, Knockin on Heavens Door, Sweet Child O Mine, Civil War etc. and then there's the hard out stuff like Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle.

Or the Bryan Adams song could be Everything I Do.....from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Cuts Like a Kife
Run to You
Somebody
Into the Fire
Can't Stop This Thing we Started

Trying to think of ones that were actually released not just on the albums but still anthems like Kids Wanna Rock or She's Only Happy When She's Dancing.

Oh, Guns and Roses - totally loved them!!

"I used to love her, oooooooooh yeah, but I had to kill her"

Lol, shocking lyrics, but we used to always have garage parties when I was at school, and some one always pulled out the guitar and we'd have a big sing-up! Yay for small town NZ in the 80's/90's!

Richard Marx, Mr Big, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper.....

I also loved Talking Heads - my favourite song ever was "And She Was"

Yay for old music!
