I don't know what the hospital has there, but best of luck to your sister. I have been there twice and its not nice.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hi Kim,
Middlemore supplied everything, cloth nappies, clothes, maternity pads etc. I took my own as well as the clothes arent exactly lovely looking, take your own breast pads and lanolin

good luck to your sister

Food-something to eat afterwards. i was so hungry after having Ella and it took ages (at NSH) to get some dinner, which just ended up being a cheese sandwich.

I would also bring a couple of pairs of PJ's. And also don't forget the camera

She might want a few maternity bras and a few tops as well, when my milk came in I managed to soak through everything.
Definitley food and maybe some drinks, like powerade etc.

I agree on the food. You get meals (eventually) but partners don't, so pack stuff for them (or some money for the cafe).
Take comfy bed type clothes, bras and breast pads. Also if you're going to be there a while, maybe take a pillow and blanket for your partner.
Also clothes for bubba to go home in. When we were there they didn't supply baby socks or hats. Just baby hospital gowns and blankets.
But maternity pads, nappies are all supplied.
Take breastfeeding books/info. The nurses up there are often to busy to spend the time needed with you to help get you going. Don't be afraid to ask though. I got quite annoyed with the nurses helping me coz they all had impatient attitudes.

Good luck, hope all goes well!

Could take soft toilet paper - that hospital one ply sandpaper is pretty awful after having a bubba.

I agree with the snacks as hospital food is not that great. I found bananas to be great as they are easy for a midnight snack.
Good luck with the new addition!!!!

my partner tried to buy some food but there was only the vending machine which isnt very filling for someone who missed dinner as we rushed to the hospital, thomas was born at 4.30 so he was pretty hungry! so definitely pack lots of food
