I just sold a very basic one for the very same reason, the pressure was not enough to get a good crema on the coffee and it took ages to steam the milk. Basically you get what you pay for, so "next time" thoeretically I would go for a more expensive model with a bit more grunt.

We have a little Saeco one which is really good, bit pricier than the basic ones, but it is pretty awesome for a small machine, and then we have our big coffee machine which has just been wired in (it needs its own circuit) and needs to be plumbed is as well! We have the Sunbeam Cafe Series (about $800 but you can get for $600 on special). You need a flasher grinder though, as our old grinder wouldn't get the beans fine enough.
BUT It is magic! We love it and get easily as good coffee as what we would get at a cafe... in fact, I think it is better! |
