Would you describe yourself as a girly girl, tom boy, city girl, town girl, country girl... or..?

I'm such a country girl but we will probably never be able to afford a place in the country , land is far too expensive. And I'm so not a girly girl.. but I don't think I'm quite a tom boy either. I'll happily do stuff that involves getting dirty or outside stuff. I'd much rather do property maintenance outside (gardens etc) than do housework lol. I don't wear dresses, hardly wear makeup. I can drive trucks and diggers even if I'm not licenced for them lol.

So what kind of girl are you?

Stacey you probably described me pretty well when you were describing yourself. I love the country, in fact we are hoping to move out of the dreaded city next year to somewhere ruralish.
I don't like wearing makeup or dresses - but can dress up if I need to. I have lived in jeans since I was a teenager and love getting dirty.
I would say I am more of a tom boy but not quite if that makes sense.   Go us!!!

Im a cross between a city girl and the kind of girl that likes to take care of her appearance but doesnt care about trends etc.. Not a country girl at all! Def not a tom boy... and im def not one of those sleek haired, designer wearing city girls..
Granted one of my frineds called me a mother hen the other day.. not sure why. COuld be the fact that i started cleaning her house while i was there.. her and I have this' thing'.. you knw.. she just knows me so well.. she wasnt offended by my cleaning...

OK OT

I'm not super-girly but I do like make-up and jewellery and pretty clothes when I go out.
When I'm at home though I'm much more casual. I really like watching kickboxing and would love to learn, I also like rockclimbing so I guess I'm somewhere in the middle??

Hmmm interesting....got me thinking!

..was raised in the city..but hate it. And Papamoa getting pretty big since we moved here but nothing like living & working in Auck.............
Had Corporarte Wardrobe/jobs for years but hated getting dressed up....Prefer to slug around in my jeans ....trackies but like to look decent if going out...wear bare minimum makeup but do like it if feeling like poo..........
Not a person who like to take dress up and take snaps of myself blah blah.............

Like the garden and house to be clean and tidy and have nice arty stuff..............but think could just as easily live in an old farmhouse and make it nice and earthly and homely..........with a horse and a sheep???

eeek no idea what I am!!!

I would say country girl, grew up on a farm sleeping in silage and doing all the work with dad (still do every so often)

I've lived in big cities and little cities, I think I prefer the county.. my kids couldn't handle it though, they are definite city kids.

....and I am definitely a tomboy (my nickname is Tommy on dads side of the family), I feel 100% more comfortable in jeans and HATE wearing girlie clothes, only time I do is when we have a wedding to go too.

BUT in saying that, I love getting my eyebrows and bits waxed, will wear makeup when I feel like it, so I guess really I'm a half and half but more Tomboy.

Oh and I just wanted to add that I LOVE Rugby League I'm a very staunch Warriors supporter (even though they can't win a damn game atm)... I used to love rugby too, but league is my game now hands down... but then I'll watch NZ play netball, so I don't know what I am

I'm no good with generalisations and, just to be difficult, I think I fit into all the categories for various reasons.

I'm a girly girl because:  I wear makeup everyday and love shoes, especially the high stilletto ones that make my calves look amazing.  I love dressing up and diamonds really are my best friend

I'm a tomboy because:  I'm very capable at DIY, I'm quite happy to roll up my sleeves and help with heavy lifting and other dirty jobs.  I love cars and really want to build a kitset car one day (when I can afford one).  I don't mind getting down and dirty and love rough and tumbling with the kids.

I'm a city girl because:  I was born in Auckland, grew up in Dunedin and now live in Wellington.  I love shopping and cafe cultures.  I love that there's always something to do.  I love being able to park the car in town and wander the art galleries with my DH, DD and a cup of takeaway starbucks.

I'm a country girl because:  One of my favourite weekend things to do is pop over to the Wairarapa with DD and visit my family on their huge section, feed the chickens, help with planting, wander around in the fresh country air.  I love the open spaces, the dark nights (with no street lamps closeby) and I love that your neighbours aren't in your pocket.  I'm still planning to build in Featherston at some time in the near future.

I think that because I am the middle child with 2 brothers and 3 sisters all close in age to me and I grew up out in a suburb in Dunedin where the city was a short bus ride away and I kept my horse within walking distance has impacted in the respect that I've got to be all 4 'girl types' and I love them all.

Hrmm, I'm probably most like a tomboy. For work I dress up and wear makeup. Don't do the whole heels and nails thing though. Outside of work I live in 3/4 pants or jeans, and a tshirt or singlet (in summer). Love getting dirty, working on DF's speedway car, building. Prefer country to town but not REMOTE country, cos I still enjoy being able to pop to the shop if I need to. If we ever win Lotto, we would buy a lifestyle block on the edge of town and have some animals and a huge huge workshop (and a dishwasher in the house cos I am so not into housework and the domestic side of life). Oh, and I also have short hair so don't do the whole hair thing, although I like to get it coloured.

I am like MrsMojo....

I am girly because I have too many shoes and too many fancy purses.

I am tom boy.....when I was a child I use to cut my hair short, wear pants and shorts, clime tree, fight with boys and play soccer. I am still a tom boy because I dont like makeup and hate doing my hair and like comfy cloths.

I am city girl - because I was always in city and love the hustle and bustle.

I am country girl - because I love the quiteness of it.

I am also an adventerous girl - I love travel, I love the unknown etc.....

I think I'm very much a girly girl - I love dressing up, wearing heels and just doing fun girly stuff :) DD1 is very much the same as me and loves anything pretty.

I do have a bit of a tom-boy side. At home I live in jeans and a t-shirt. And I'm the one responsible for any DIY jobs around the house. As well as any dirty jobs and rough and Tumble. DH is really not into all the manly stuff so we leave anything I cant handle, like the car, to my Dad

A bit of everything. I like classic, comfortable and feminine things. I love clothes but very rarely wear skirts/dresses.

I wear macara and lip gloss every day (feel hideous without it) but really dislike foundation and eye shadow.

I have never been a tomboy but always been "one of the guys". I prefer hanging out with guys as they are lower maintenance and less judgemental (generally).

Love being close to shops but prefer spending my spare time outside, walking, swimming, at the beach etc.

So feminine yet one of the guys, and a city girl who loves nature and the outdoors. Talk about a walking contradiction!

City girl thru and thru. I live on the Kapiti Coast and its waaaaay too hicksville for my liking but suits our current situation with DHs job. But I get to go into town everyday for work and I LOVE it so much.

I actually get misty eyed walking down courtenay place on the ever so rare night out and I feel homesick!

I am a city girl, I love the hussle and bussle of the city and hate the quietness of the country.

I'm not a tomboy as such and not a girly girl wither. But I do love to get dressed up when I have the chance too. I love sports (big league fan here too ) and that respect I don't think I am a girly girl.

I'm a low-key city girl. That is, I like town water and clean hands and no animals. But I don't need the whole shopping and cafe lifestyle, I'm quite happy with a few friends over for a pot-luck dinner. And don't mind wearing sloppy jeans at home, etc. Also if I'm not going to work, I usually don't wear makeup - at work I wear minimal.

I'm a fair bit like Teresa.    I used to go out to my sisters farm, and i liked zooming round on the four-wheeler, and i liked helping feed the calfies.. but always sraight back inside afterwards to wash it all off, lol. I think the main thing i hated about the country - to be honest, is the idea there might be spiders about. lol pitiful aye?

I hang around home mostly in casual stuff.    Tends to be jeans most of the time. tend to wear that stuff to work too cos we get changed into scrubs so it doesn't matter too much.

When i go out, i do like to wear something a bit stylier - only cos i don't get to do it much. so yes, going into town does invlove make-up, hair straighteneing and necklace, rings and earings. All stuff that i don't wear day to day cos i can't wear them to work so forget in between.   I do tend to like long slimming pants and high heeled shoes for going out anywhere nice too, plus they make me taller.

I like the made-up and straightened hair look, cos otherwise i do tend to look tired and old (which is what i am) but make up at work just melts so it's silly, i wear mascara and lipgloss. and straighteneing my hair comes very very last most days - as in, if i don't have time, too bad, so maybe go to work with nice hair about once a week if i'm lucky/or happy to be late. lol

I do like cafes, and shopping, but money tends to be spent on other things so they're a nice treat when i get to do em. I love going to stay at my sisters and going to auckland and Hamilton etc. I love shopping, I am just so bad with it that i don't do it, If i start i don't stop.

So, um, kinda low-key girly city girl, mixed with working mum, mixed with traditional, baking, sewing crafty stuff too. ok, I'm a mixed bag.... a 50cent mixture. lol

City girl and girly girl here. I like the idea of the country but I could never live anywhere but a city- could possibly stomach living in a smaller town but it would have to be within 20-30 minutes to a city for me to be ok. I'm definitely not a tom boy- I can get stuck in and do 'mans' work if I absolutely have to but I HATE it and its definitely not me.

I'm more of a tomboy country girl, but not completely.

I grew up on a farm in the wop wops and now live in the city, but I miss the space you have in the country and being able to see the southern alps out the window. I miss the country people too, very friendly and straight up, no game playing.

I always had toy guns and bow and arrows when growing up. I also like wearing trousers and don't care about designer clothes or shoes and hardly ever wear make up and am not afraid to get my hands dirty or do hard physical work outside.

However i do sometimes like to dress up nice, love diamonds and I enjoy the convenience of the city.

Hmmmm,...well,...

I grew up in Auck, but always said I wanted to live somewhere much quieter. Loved living In Whakatane, cos shops and 'bigger' cities were only an hr away when I needed them! Now I constantly crave desent shopping and a change of scenery,..Gisborne is way too isolated for my liking! But I love that Isla loves farm bikes, sheep etc when we visit the in-laws (20mins away). I quite like it, but need to wah up and get clean, and would have to drive to town each day to keep sane of I lived there!

I wear clothes that are comfy, but I love getting dressed up, but harldy ever get the chance now. Wearing makeup and dressing nicely , having my haird done and eyebrows waxed gives me confidence.
