We cleared out our bedroom first.  Took down the bed etc and then as each box was packed we moved it into the bedroom so they were all out of sight out of mind.  For the week before we moved I bunked in with Michaela and Ian slept on the couch but it meant that we could have half packed boxes, towers of packed boxes etc out of the way of our curious toddler.

ETA: we did most of our packing when she was asleep or one of us would take her out to the park while the other packed.

Tell me about it Kaz. It is a nightmare. I have found that I can only pack at night or during the morning when Andrew is at kindy and only if Josh has a sleep.

I am at the moment doing mine by what I find and want to pack and I am storing the boxes in Andrew bedroom at the moment as I have packed up his single bed but he still has his bunks.

If you can get someone to have her for a few hours as you find you do so much more without them around. I don't have the boys today and I having manged to pack the rest of the toys away and the kitchen (apart from the few things we do still need) and now I am going to attack my room tonight.

I did as much as I could while Maya was asleep/at daycare and just stacked up the boxes in the hallway, but I made sure they were taped down so she couldn't get into them. Packed her room last so it wasn't too disruptive for her.

It's hard for them to understand but I managed to convince Hannah (at 2yrs 9mos) that we were packing the toys to save them for our new house. Saved absolute favourites but packed the rest. Of course we still had tears and I just kept repeating that we were "saving" them. We had someone to look after her for moving day but not for the rest of the time.
