Down here in Christchurch today, no snow, but yucky sleety rain with hail... mmmmmmmmmm., also it's freezing!

Its pretty windy in Kapiti.... not cold though. I'm sitting out of the wind in the sun in only a think skivi and I'm pretty warm.
I think its a good day for staying inside - Dont blame you for not wanting to take your kids out. -------------

It was cold and dark and damp (but not raining) this morning when I went to work, now the sun is out and shining bright and we have washing on the line. This afternoon we're expecting a southerly so I'll be grateful to go home to a nice warm fire. -------------

Meh, it's so windy here (on and off) that there's sheets of loose roofing (from our driveway, where it's been waiting for DH to finally take it to the dump) literally flying around our driveway as I type! I'm soooo not looking forward to juggling Ella and the grocery trolley this avo. ------------- Andie |

| Didnt the front hit with avengence Lisha? I was just getting TOm up to go swimming and the wind picked up and everything was howling and raining. Thankfully the worst of it passed while we were in a nice warm pool but on the way home I saw snow to low levels on the hills. |

Bad mummy moment here but can you leave Zoe in the car while you drop Lucy off Lisha? I used to leave the gremlins when I dropped Maya off coz you could see the car from inside and it was too much of a mission to drag them both out every time.

Is it raining in Kapiti yet? Wellington CBD is dark and bleak. 30 mins ago I could see blue sky out towards Porirua but it looks grey that way now too. -------------

i was in the bathroom this morning and the sun was streaming in, then i hear this almighty noise coming that sounded like rain....WTF? so i opened the window just in time to get belted with really heavy, hard hitting hail!! i ran out to let the dogs inside, oscar was running around the yard freaking out, poor lil thing.
it lasted about 10mins, there's still some hail around the garden, looked like snow had covered the ground. i hated the thunder and lightening, was very scared!  ------------- http://www.alternatickers.com">

We had hail, then lightening and thunder that was far too close for my liking! Harry looked a little bit confused (like he was trying to figure it all out) but he wasn't scared.
Then all our power went out.
Then it came back on again. And our modem wasn't working. Then I went to defrost chicken for dinner and the microwave wasn't working either. So we were trying to figure out how we were going to pay to replace them.... then the lights suddenly came on brighter and the modem and microwave were working again! A miracle!! We had vast amounts of hail quite late last night..must of been big bits too cause it was really pounding our windows (lucky keziah was shattered from our holiday and didn't even bat an eyelash *phew*) and some thunder and lightening that was a bit too close for comfort -------------
