Anyone know when its time to change your kidlet from a proper car seat to a booster?
Joshua seems to be getting too long for his seat, but I'm not sure what to do! Do I keep him in his fully tethered car seat or switch him to a booster.
He's about 103cm long and 18kg.
Thanks!

The seat we have says to convert it to a booster between 15-18kgs so I'd say now's good.
If you're worried about the harness I think you can buy harness seperately for use with booster seats - but not totally positive on that.

at that age i think a seat is recommended as opposed to booster. when i got the boys seats checked last year i was surprised when they said gabriel was too big for his seat... turned out because his ears were over the top it wasnt safe anymore, so its not how long in the legs they are...

Yep, Joshie's head sticks out over the top of his carseat. But I'm just not sure he's ready for a booster by itself. I might go with a high backed booster and get the harness thingy as well.

Maya went into a convertible booster at 2 with the 5 point harness and we took the harness off last year when she was 4 and now she just uses it as a booster.
Will check out the link you posted Jo coz am keen to move the gremlins into convertible boosters so that Chiara can have her Guardian when she outgrows the capsule and figure I might as well do it while I can afford it.

Vanessa, Hannah has been in a booster with ordinary seatbelt since just before 3yrs. She was never one to try to climb out so I didn't bother about the 5pt harness. Of course I would have got one if finances had been better. But now that Jack's 3 1/2, I wouldn't worry about it.

The supernanny 3 in 1 booster is great! Especially at it's current price. It's a bit of a maze to get the seatbelt through the first time but it means it's ultra secure, I was pleased I didn't need an anchor for it too since I'd just bought a new car without one. Don't worry you'll soon become an old hand at taking it in and out of the car it if you have to remove the car seat frequently (and if you don't it doesn't matter).
It's a good wide seat and Michaela loves it (she was getting a bit squashed in her old seat) plus I couldn't resist buying a pretty pink car seat. I love that I'm never ever going to have to buy another seat for Michaela because that one will do until she's a tween.
We'll buy our next carseat from them too and might also pick up an infant capsule from there too (at $89 it's almost as cheap as hiring).
Curious to know how quickly your seat arrives Lisa. I ordered mine early on a Tuesday morning last August and it was delivered before 9am the next day.
Emma, exciting that the comp is next month, I always love the prizes... now if only I could win it.

Wow, that's fantastic service!
My DD is the same. Whenever I've had to take it apart to wash it she decides when I'm putting it together again is a great time to sit on it, or run off with the harness.

They're great aren't they? It's such a cute pink, I don't really like the gaudy pink of some other booster seats.

I might join in too.
I have been looking for another car seat as I hate changing the one we have between the cars. And that one looks so cool. And it will last for years. Now have to convince DH.

I feel like such a trendsetter
But seriously it is a great carseat, it will last years, safety standards are Euro (which are often higher then ours) and at $139 it's bargain - plus it comes in cute colours, I'm going to get the baby capsule in lime green when I can slip it past DH.
I should so be on commission

I checked Han this morning and she hasn't quite grown out of her seat yet. The Guardian is quite a lot taller than some of the other carseats. So I'm going to hold off on buying a booster (well... a decent booster - we have one without the 5 pt harness for short trips or easy changeover between cars) and that'll give me a chance to save
