I dont know if I am imagining this but since I have been pregnant and the further I get into it I have the most real and disturbling dreams! For the past three ngihts in a row I have had horrible nightmares, the kind that when you wake up you think it has actually happened, and even when you realise it was only a dream you still feel "funny" about it the whole day. And its not related to baby stuff really. The night before last I dreamt tha my husband left me without explanation. Last ngiht I dreamt I was on a plane and suddnely it was suspended in teh air and for about a second I could feel it had stopped moving, and suddenly it dropped and started to plummet. I got such a fright I woke up covered in sweat breathing so fast I could hardly get in any air.
Is it being pregnant that is doing this? Also I notice that I can have a horrible dream, wake up and then go back to sleep and have another totally real horrible dream, sometimes up to three in a night and I remember all of them!
Anyone else had this or is it just me?
I am startign to get grumpy during the day cos I am not sleeping well...will it go away....?

hi mrs frantic,
you are not alone!! i have had such vivid dreams sice becoming pregnant. it was the same when i was preggy with my first too, so i guess it is related to pregnancy. i've had some horrible nightmares, the kind where its so real i wake up crying and lots of weird vivid ones.
with my daughter i had the dreams right the way through pregnancy, towards the end they became all about birth!

Hi Mrs Frantic,
yeah - I think it's a pregnancy thing too... my pregnancy is a few days behind yours (maybe I'll arrange a ticker one day!) and for the last couple of weeks I've had the most incredibly vivid, random, and sometimes scary (sometimes really good though) dreams. At least they're keeping me well-entertained while I slumber, but if I have the New Orleans disaster dream again I won't be too impressed!

Me too. I have many frightening dreams throughout the night.

Really disturbing ones and ones I can remember so vividly.

I also dream about my partner leaving or not being able to contact him.

This is absolutely normal during pregnancy!! Don't worry darlin'.

I am thankfull not to of had any about my darling leaving me but I still wake him up in the middle of the night with my moans and groans to bad dreams!!

It totally sucks but I am sure it passes with time...

I had a horrible dream on Friday night that I forgot to pick Maya up from preschool and she was stuck there for a whole hour by herself. Not that it would ever happen - if I did forget (entirely possible atm!) school would ring me, and certainly not leave her there by herself, but I woke up feeling like the worst mother in the world. Can't help but wonder if it is somehow a mainfestation of my worries about not being a good mother to her atm because of being so sick all the time, and feeling sad that it is never just going to be me and her again.

So yes, I'd say you're completely normal!

They're horrible, aren't they! I hate those dreams. Mind you, I dream vividly in full colour and with all 5 senses working normally (most people dream in black & white, with no smells/tastes), so my preggy dreams are just extra strong!

I think the reason we remember these dreams is cause we wake so soon after having them.
