So I went to the doctors this week to get some blood tests for low iron levels, since it was about the right time my GP ordered CD21 tests as well to make sure I'm ovulating. Well the practice nurse rang on Thursday night to say yep, I definitely ovulated and all my other results were in the normal range so that was good news. I asked her if I could pick up a copy of the results on my way home from work last night. So I'm sitting in my car in the carpark in the pouring rain checking these bloodwork results and noticed my doctor also ordered HCG levels, and what do ya know, they were at 16! WTF?!!! I'm pregnant?!!! That was one rather large piece of information the nurse neglected to tell me over the phone!!! So no kidding I ovulated! Of course I went straight home and POAS, and there they were, the two famous lines. Holy crap. Pretty good timing as I have my 30th birthday party next weekend, but I am seriously not complaining!!!! An early birthday present from my angel?
My doctor doesn't know yet, she may have a few words to say to the nurse on Monday when I ring her to let her know!!! I'm in a little bit of shock, or denial, not sure. Anyway I hope this is the start of many more March bubbas!!! Yey!!! (Sorry this is a bit of a cut and paste from Planning Pregnancy!)

Perhaps the nurse assumed you already knew you were pregnant and just assumed that an HCG level of 16 was "normal" and didn't feel she needed to say anything? Still awesome, though! Orange juice for your birthday toast  -------------

Alrighty so first HCG was 16 at 9DPO, second was 397 at 13 DPO. Works out to be a doubling time of 0.86 days!
