Totally random but does anybody freeze milk? Does it seperate? I was thinking about doing a sneaky and trying it without DP noticing (he thinks its gross) we just go through quite a bit and I hate going to the shop ALL the time.

Im sure my food tech teacher freezed all her milk and cheese and stuff but I can't remember if it still tasted good lol

Freezing milk is fine, it will seperate a bit when its defrosting but once full defrosted it is fine.

I cant taste the difference tbh, but I only drink trim... not sure how it would effect the taste of full cream....

Yeah I want to freeze trim and full fat as we all drink different milk lol. Might give it a go, just didn't want to waste milk if it was

Why does two litres freeze better than 3? Oh and I will need to tip a little out right because it will expand?

I don't know for sure, my sister freezes milk all the time as they live far out of town and she finds that 2 is better than 3 - sorry can't be more specific. I always forget to tip some out and mine has always been fine, I just make sure its upright when I freeze it, it does make the container bulge so if you tip some out it should be fine.

What about freezing cheese? DH just bought a big block and I really don't want it going mouldy!

We've just started freezing milk, I tip about 1/2 cup out before I do so... not sure about freezing cheese, but wouldn't it last for a while? Ours seems to last for ages without going mouldy... or maybe we just eat it quickly lol....

I use to freeze milk and cheese. Cheese just grate it before freezing however. And milk is fine just leave it out overnight and will be totally fine the next morning. In summer however leave it in the fridge.
