Hi all,

I am 18 weeks pregnant and i still suffer from a bit of morning sickness, i know this is normal and all but any tips for helping it? It is only first thing in the morning, I wake up go to put my toast on and open the curtains and between then and my toast popping i get sick. It is not every morning but it is 95% of the time at the same stage of my morning.

Afterwards i am fine, i can go and eat my breakfast and start my day.

It is only flem that comes up so of course hurts like hell

Just having something to nibble on beside your bed helps...and stay lying down for a little while once you've eaten...

I use to have a muffin beside my bed so as soon as I woke up I ate that...not very healthly but it did the trick!

I had arrowroot biscuits next to the bed and just had one before I got up. Puts a lining in your stomach and hopefully will tide you over until you can make your toast. Good luck!!

A bit of lemonade by the bed to have before you get up might help... it's magic to have in your stomach for when/if you do drive the porcelean bus suddenly - takes away the yukky vomit taste.

I wish I had a magic fix for you (and me!) but I don't, just wanted to let you know that you are definitely not alone - I too wake up each morning knowing that I am going to end up head first down the toilet

Does anyone have any suggestion on what to eat if feeling a bit ill during the day? I haven't had much morning sickness but occassionally feel a bit queasy as I do today and even after having some ginger pills hasn't made me feel any better.

I snack all day... I can't eat as much at each meal as I could pre-pregnancy (or as much as I was at first!) so I eat small amounts during the day.

I find crackers really good, with cheese or tomato... half an apple or orange... a glass of orange juice... a milkshake... a piece of bread or toast with avocado on it... that sort of thing.

I'm still suffering most days with horrendous nausea and vomiting - It's been really bad again over the last couple of weeks - so much so that I actually lost 1/2 a kilo between midwife appointments. I tell you the only thing that I found any good - watered down apple juice made into ice cubes. Either suck on them, or add them to a glass of water. I feel for you. It's very hard
