With it now being winter, and also on a limited budget, what are some safe exersices that can be done inside during pregnancy, I have heard leg lifts and squats are good.

Does anyone have any other ideas for when its raining and cant go for a walk around the block?

Not at home, but swimming is great while pregnant.

At home: get a swiss ball and do gentle exercises on there like jumping jacks etc.

ok, so ive had a look on the internet to see if there is any prenatal exercise programs that are safe and idiotproof (sorry, hope doesnt offend, but you wanna really make sure your doing things right) however most sites were rubbish and only gave guildlines. i have alot of stuff in my folder at work but would take years to write up and without the pictures there is the risk of doing wrong.

so my thoughts are, if any of you want to PM me your address i can photocopy the stuff that i think is best while im at work and post it out. then you have the pictures, guildlines, and the clearist instructions possible. hope that isnt too much of a pain

I wish I had seen this thread sooner! I hope I'm not too late monikah, I'll PM you with my address if I'm not too late.

I invested in one of those big ball things but I have no idea what to with it but the kids love to roll it up and down the hallway!!

I thought about swimming but it's so hard to find time around to do it.

Does anyone know if rebounder exercise is okay or not? ie. bouncing on a little round trampoline. I am nearly into the third trimester, find it easy to just hop on for a few mins, but hope bouncing is okay for baby!?

Also, something I was reading said if you exercise late in pregnancy your tummy muscles stay stronger & its harder when it comes to labour & baby getting in right position. Anyone else heard this?

really over the top tight stomach muscle can be bad because they need to stretch out during pregnancy or bubs wont drop but the pressure working your abs puts on baby isnt the best either. rebounders are only in the bad books because your ligaments stretch out during pregnancy and you may be more likely to do injuries to your pelvis etc... but if you feel ok, i dont see why not bounce around a little :)
