Well, I don't like it so much personally, but each to their own. I'm not a fan of naming your kid something really popular, it's worse than something weird but then I am weird, so

I love the name Amaranth if this bub is a girl, it means everlasting/unfading flower, but it's probably pretty weird to some

Paul Holmes on the radio this morning was calling her Sunday Roast, too!

Shocker!

But yes, each to their own.
I just feel sorry for the kid when she gets to school.

Mind you, there'll probably be a few Mandarines and Garbage Cans in her class, so her name will seem normal

I actually like the name ... although Im also ok with the name Tuesday too (as on Shortland Street).

And .. Sundays child is full of grace, although I think that has more to do with when the child was born as opposed to their name

Maybe I was a celebrity in another life

I so thought Sunday Roast as well!!

It's not a name I would pick but don't think it's too bad considering the celebrity peer group she belongs to.. Apple, Suri, Harlow, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, etc - it will be normal in their social cirlces.

Just think if they were born in the 60's/70's they could have been called Dweezil, Moon Unit or Diva Muffin like Frank Zappas kids.

My niece has two girls called Angel and Summer.

I cant say its my cup of tea either but atleast she can shorten it to rose.
The TV1 news this morning at 8 were calling her sunday roast too that nickname is so going to stick!
I really wonder how much thought goes into naming these poor kids do they not think what rhymes with it or what names can be shorted to? I know its something we think of everytime we see a name we like the look/sound of

I actually quite like some of these (okay my inner celeb coming out...) and would happily consider calling a girl any of these (or shortened versions)...in fact my favourite name is Trixie-Belle, and everytime I mention this to DH he just nods and says "Yes dear"....cant see him ever letting me call a girl that!!!

Trixie is kinda cute ......

Posted By: MrsMojo
Date Posted: 08 July 2008 at 9:35pm

Trixie is a cute name, my dad had a dog called Trixie.

As for Sunday-Rose..... I think Rose is a beautiful name but I think they must have both been high when they put the name together.  What do they put in the birth pain killers over there?  Celebrities shouldn't be allowed to name their kids until the drugs have worn off.

What seemed weird to me was that Isabelle and Conor are both lovely names, but seperate Nicole and Tom and you get Suri and Sunday-Rose, I wonder if the other 2 were names before they were adopted.

Please people think of your CHILDREN not yourselves when naming kids! Silly celebs!

You soon learn working with kids what NOT to call your children. And also, babies aren't babies very long, they grow up and noone will take them seriously if they're called something really *cutesy* that was cool back in the day (well its not even cool now but YKWIM).

*"And for defence counsel we have.... Heavenly Hiraani Tigerlilly...."* yeah. right.

I don't really mind it- its kind of pretty. Weird, but pretty- although I think most names are pretty when you tack Rose on the end!

Never thought of Sunday Roast though Thats kind of funny. I just don't get why celebs feel the need to use such weird obscure names.

(PS I LOVE the name Poppy! I think its so cute )

I am not keen on the Sunday bit. Like others, I really like the name Tuesday and even Wednesday but I would never name my child after a day of the week!

And it sure is a mouthful, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. It doesn't flow very well...!

Simon Dellow also said "what Sunday Roast?" when he heard it on the news.

Jamie Oliver also has a daughter called Daisy Boo
And what about the willis-moore tribe, Rumur, Scout and Tallulah-Belle.

Ginger Spice's poor wee girls name is Bluebell Halliwell, which rhymes and sounds awful.

Can't wait to hear what the brangelina twins will be called.

Jo-Lo and Marc Anthony called their twins

In regards to Jamie Olivers Daisy Boo - Boo was the nickname they called her when she was on the inside - so in that respect, I think its kinda cute.

And I quite like Scout as a name. I was on my list until DH crossed it out

Angelinas are rumoured to be called Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane so says the latest New Idea.
