Hey Ladies,

Just read Paws topic on no energy. I agree totally. I have no energy either and am in second trimester.

I would also like to say I dont have the nice shiny, full, lustrioius hair, beautiful skin and I dont feel beautiful. Apparently that is another thing people are meant to experience in second trimester. My partner says I have all those but I think hes just being nice.

What about you ladies??

nope, my hair is out of control at the moment! i can't do anything with it. and my skin is completely sallow and dull, not glowing or radiant or whatever. i just feel fat and unnattractive. this is temporary though and i'm not letting it get to me, i'm so excited about my little boy that i don't give a sh*t if i look like cr*p for the next few months!

i have days when i feel "beautiful" but not many!!! lol, my hair is having major probs, with sticky upy bits and is in desperate need of a cut (one day...), i have NO clothes that fit and cant afford to buy any yet.
my eyes always look tired! argh!
just once i would love to feel like i have that glow that everyone talks about on the up side, hubby does say i look good and boosts me up for a brief moment.

I have bad re-growth, i have bad acne, i have oily hair and i have no energy. Kell i know exactly how you feel. What happened to the health hair and the pregnant woman glow??? Is it a myth or have i just not got to that stage yet?

Took till about 4 weeks ago until my hair started looking nice and started to feel less tired

i found that it was the other way round for me - instead of having energy int he second trimester and feeling icky in the third - it tookuntil the start of my thrid trimester to actually start feeling ok, then about half way through it i got SPD and things went back to being horrible again. Hang in there, you're so close to the end, and most of you will look back and miss being preggy later on, beleive me.. all the acne and tiredness is soon forgotten. lol

Hehehe... I so remember the bikini line thing! I got Nat to do mine in the last month, just so I felt good before I went into labour!

I haven't been able to see my bikini line since I was about 18 weeks!!! I have to get out of the shower and look in the mirror to be able to see what I'm doing!! I'm going to get it waxed before bubs comes - I don't want them to loose my son when he arrives

I just feel fat and frumpy...

I love our new uniform (Air NZ) but I'm sorry....the maternity uniform leaves much to be desired! That really makes me feel porky!

Plus I'm suddenly the proud owner of 2 extra kg and I'm trying to work out where it suddenly came from.

I know I shouldn't complain because I'm having a baby but I worked really hard losing weight a few years ago and it's hard watching the scales creep up...even if it is for baby!

I have zits. and dry skin. but worst is so many zits. On my face and on my chest. I am one step away from becoming a live, walking talking connect the dots game!

I bet little kids snicker when they see me in the supermarket and call me pizza face behind my back! And I have put on weight, but dont really have much of a bump, so i just look like i have been pigging out...lovely!

Hey Paws!! Have you checked out the new shoes for Air NZ - designed by Briarwood? I love the winter boots!! If you haven't seen them, you should!!

(P.S. I actually only checked into this tread because I saw a posting by Mrs Frantic ...and I thought that was the most fantastic name!)

Also ...you guys are so putting me off ...what happened to glowing? What happened to joyful serenity??? lol You mean to say it's not a doddle in the park this whole pregnancy business? The next thing you'll be complaining that birth hurts. It doesn't, does it?

(BTW - although I M/C my barely there pregnancy last month, I couldn't believe how much my boobs hurt!! How long does that keep up?? I was just about ready to chop them off! No wonder women get themselves out of normal bras asap)

Hey Paws,

Actually ...no, not me. My husband is with engineering (line maintenance in Auck)... and was silly enough to tell me about the offer to Air NZ employees. I imagine someone will be looking at him sideways for buying womens boots

BTW ...If you can't justify it, you're not trying hard enough

Sadly I wish I could justify it but we have too many bills...and too many coming up! *sigh*

Lizzle ... Shhhhhhh!!

I don't want to know. The next time I get pregnant, I am going to be gorgeous and divine and glowing the entire 9 months. My feet and ankles aren't going to swell, my hair will shine, there will be no acne, and I will keep my bikini line in line the entire time. I am also not going to get morning sickness, and will not put on an ounce of pregnancy weight. *Snort* I'll let you all know how that goes ...

(Thank you for your kind thoughts )

Oh, mum2emj ...

You need to go and get yourself (actually, make the father of your bump do it since it's all his fault ) a lovely body scrub or body wash or something wonderfully similar, and a mask for your hair or something else completely luxurious, and take some you time, and make yourself feel wonderful! Or, you could find a hairdresser and get your fringe trimmed, or your eyelashes tinted or your ends nipped or something inexpensive, but still wonderful and cheerful ...and make he-who-is-to-blame do some babysitting while you're off doing it

(P.S. I have no idea how practical/impractical this suggestion is ...but if even the thought cheered you up any, I have achieved my goal!)

I'm just starting to hit the horrible hormonal stage... I was crying in bed because Nathaniel told me I was beautiful, and I just can't see it. End result: As soon as we can (location, not finances) he's going to dye my hair, and then I'll get a haircut, and then we're going shopping for some maternity clothes!
