so here I am packing groceries into bags (I shop at pak n save) and a man mid to late 20s is standing beside me (well probably about 2 metres away) as well a police officer and the store detective (I used to work at said store so know it was the store detective).
mans says rather annoyed "does it look like it is open"(was a box which looked to be a baby';s play gym)onne of them either police officer or store detective..said up yeah look there....(I continue to pack my shopping into bags) he then gets asked to empty his pockets....throws out of those USB memory sticks...he also has a plastic bag..PO goes to open that..guy gets p'd off and just rips the bag open..sure enough more memory sticks. Oh he was not happy he got caught..I reckon if he had gotten away with them he would have sold them on trademe or to his mates for a quick $$$. really irks me when people steals things from stores...but glad the guy was caught. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I used to work at Briscoes and saw things like this ALL the time... at one stage a lady came in and stole about $400 woth of loose cutlery and shoved it into every little nook and cranny on her  Luckily our store security was in at the time and caught her in the act
Another time, a young guy emptied a vacuum cleaner box of all it's goods and filled it with other stock after breaking into the shaver cabinets but was BUSTED by our manager and instore security and stopped before he left the store.... -------------

Working in retail and in particular looking after a security team I've heard some interesting tales of how/where people hide products, but it never ceases to amaze me. good to hear that he got caught -------------
