Just wondering if someone can clarify the difference between CC and CIO for me please.

Yep I can.
CC is where you allow the baby to cry for x amount of minutes then go and comfort put back to bed and then repeat increasing the number of minutes until they fall asleep. Some people comfort for the same number of minutes that they allow the baby to cry for and some just go in and give a quick pat/hug etc.

CIO is where you just leave them to cry until they fall asleep. Your are suppose to listen to the gaps in the crying as they should get closer and closer together if its working.
