With my 7 year old niece staying with us for a few days, we heard some classics....

The Simpsons came on tv....
"Oh The Simsims, I love the Simsims"
"The Simsims?"
"Yeah The Simsims"
(even when we looked at the word and how it was spelt, she was still convinced it was the Simsims and we were all wrong!).

When I was trying to decipher a story she'd written, and couldn't work out what the word "awnkl" was...
"What's that word there?"
"Uncle"
"Oh of course, I see that now"
"That's ok.... good try though Aunty Lizzy" !!!

She was singing with me and Harry...
"My bunny lies over the ocean, my bunny lies over the sea, my bunny lies over the ocean, so bring back my bunny to me" lol

When we had lots of the rellies staying over on Fri night...
"Aunty Lizzy, where am I gonna sleep tonight"
"You're gonna sleep in the lounge, with Grandma and your big sis, it'll be like a slumber party"
"Oh cool, a slumber party... will there be wine? I like wine!"

And a couple of years ago, Christmas morning (we were all sleeping in a tent together), she woke up and said... "I know what day it is!".
"What day?" asked her big sis.
"Monday."

Nice.

So go on, add yours....

Andre said the other day that he was anxious, so DH said to him why are you anxious Andrew. he said he was anxious as he programme had finished. Was meant to be angry.

Monday at DC Andrew said to the teacher, my mummy will be here soon (this was a t 3.30pm) and she why is that Andrew. Andrew relied cos it is getting dark and my mumy has to get me home before it gets dark.

Awww cute!

The niece got some new pjs and was doing them up, and said "this makes me nervous cos the buttons are on the other side than what I'm used to, I feel nervous about it" lol.

The kids I used to nanny for, we were walking/biking around the park and Miss 3 was a little way ahead of us pushing her dolly in her pram. All of a sudden she stops, turns around with a grin on her face, and goes "hey you guys - I farted!" lol.

My 5 year old has certainly had me in fits of laughter..

"oooooooooo Mum, I just love those undies you are wearing. Can you keep them so that i can wear them when im 25?"

Having a bath together one night...
"mum.. your boobies are funny. They are pointing at me" Lol.

"mum, if jackson dies, that'll be sad. But it will be ok, cause if theres another baby boy like jackson with no mum or dad we can just get him instead. He has to be the same size as Jackson though so he can fit all his clothes"

My 4 and a half year old neighbour knows I'm having a baby and is very excited. She also understands that 'Allan and Mon' have had to do things a little different to get pregnant. The problem is that she is telling all and sundry ...

"Mon is having a baby but Allan's not the daddy"

Erm ... I guess it's all about interpretation    That's the only way she can comprehend that the way we are having a baby is different to the way her mummy and daddy had her!

This morning i told Caitlyn i wasn't feeling very well and she looked at me and said
"mum, are you SURE your'e not pregnant "
took me by surprise, i didnt know she knew about feeling sick when you were pregnant!

The other night i said "dont you wish your mum could sing Caitlyn ?" and she looked at me and said "no, but i wish you could dance " whoa! talk about breaking my heart !!

I used to have a whole thread on the random stuff she said actually eg "you can be my mummys SPECIAL friend , shes pretty and will make muffins for you "

Last night she informed me she was "as cold as a whistle " bless

LMAO!!
These are so cute!! Great thread idea, Liz!

My 2 year old nephew comes out with some classics.
He calls Hannah "bebe" and me "bebe mama" cos there's no way he can get his toungue around my name. (My cousin, at 4, called me "Charsh*t" - unfortunately, it stuck - she's now 16).

He started to call my Mum Tony. And none of us knew why, but we just went with it.
it's now morphed into "Trannie" - we clicked, he's trying to say "Granny" but can't make the "gr" sound.

hahahaha Liz, I'm still laughing at "hey guys....I farted!"    Were these the British kids? Cos that would make it SO much cuter, with their accents!

hahah they really do say the darndest things, huh

My three little cousins, aged 3, 7 and 9 at the time, were staying with us for a night while their Mum and Dad were away.
In the morning before they were picked up they decided to record some songs onto tape to give their Mum and Dad. I got them going with a song and popped off to the toilet. I came back and they were giggling uncontrollably. I just thought they were having fun, so giggled with them.

Their Mum and Dad come to pick them up and were made to listen to the tape.
It starts off well, singing a nice song.... then all of a sudden you hear this teeny little voice (miss 3) saying, quite clearly, "Daddy has a big pee-pee!" (this is what was said when I left the room!)

Oh man. We were all trying SO hard not to laugh!!

LMAO I love them all. I remember that thread Kelly my sis used to come around to read it lol.

We were at playcentre and we were showing Jack the Jack in a box and he went "No, its a Freece in a box" sooo cute. Freece is what he calls Caprece.

Hes also quite a tidy thing and if the house is a bit of a mess he goes around saying "mess everywhere"

"oh ", she says "i wish i had one....can i see yours?"
"no caitlyn, you cannot see mine, you cannot see any boys for another 15 years " (hes rather protective of her )
"please?"
"no"
"pretty please? i'll tidy my room"
" sorry, but no"

"humph,*walks off* turns back and says..." i bet you don't even have one anyway "

Gia calls an Umbrella a "sunbrella" when it's sunny, and a rainbrella when it's raining!

Gia was in Jett's cot one day.  I asked her to get out.  She was climbing over the rail, and was caught in the middle (one leg on each side).  I heard her scream out (i'd left the room) and so I rushed in there, and she says "I hurt my peepee!"  It's taken quite a while for her to get that she has a "gina", not a peepee like her brothers.

And now, because Rico comes to me and tells me that Gia's been annoying him when he's trying to play with his blocks & she takes them all off him, that she's picked up on this "annoying" word.  So now she comes to be me and says "Jett's been 'nnoying me".  I'll go and see where is Jett is, and he's nowhere near where Gia's been!  Also when she's playing with her younger cousins, she'll go to my sister's and say that "K's been 'nnoying me", or "E's been 'nnoying me".  She's such a madam!

These are so funny!

My favourite time was when we were sitting at the dinner table with the in laws and Charlotte was showing off some of the big words she could say. She was also going through a phase where she constantly moaned about being sore or sick- we were telling her to pick up her fork and eat her dinner. She clutched her elbow and said "I can't, my elbow hurts and my tummy is sore"- DH laughed at her and said "Charlotte, can you say hypochondriac?" at which point she grabbed her neck and said "I can't, my throat hurts".

We had our nearly 3 yr old niece over for the night on the weekend and she was playing "hide & seek" with my DH under a blanket on the couch, he said she should hide under a blanket that was on the floor right near our dog.

She went over and lifted the blanket up and said very seriously "I can't hide here it smells like dog"!!!

Ooo I was just looking through my old blog and came across a few more....

Miss 4 Year Old had just come back from injections at the doctors. "I don't want to go back there for a very very long time. I don't like it when they put holes in my arms".

Mr 5 was looking outside.. "Liz, the grass is getting really long... it needs to be cut. When's Dad going to do the lawning?"

Baha and I'd forgotten about this next one!

The 4 year old was in a particularly rough mood. She was bouncing on my lap and jabbing her knees into my leg, all while I was trying to get the 2 year old dressed.
Me: "You can sit on my lap if you want - but sit nice and still, just be gentle"
Her: "Are you an old person Liz?"

My boys have just been sent a little einsteins dvd from grandma in oz. They have picked up on the american accent and when saying blastoff it sounds like "blaastta" (imagine an american saying the 'a'.) Funny how they say exactly as they hear, try and correct them and there's no way they'll have a bar of it

Hannah was sitting with me on the couch thismorning, snuggling in with her head on my chest.

These are all too darn cute!

Keira is forever coming out with amusing things and I always say to myself I must write them down before I forget them. I can't think of a single one.

ETA. So maybe I lied a little, I have just remembered a couple.
Last year I walked in on Keira and Maddi playing and asked what they were doing... Keira said "we are pretending to be daddys" Intrigues I asked and what do daddys do, Keira replies "put their hands in their pockets and stick out their thumbs". And that was what they did the rest of the afternoon.

One day Maddi was quietly playing in her bedroom, she suddenly got relly excited and came running out to me yelling "horsie mummy, look a horsie!!!!!" wondering what on earth she was talking about I followed her in to her bedroom where she sat down and pointed to an ant on the wall.

out of the mouths of babes aye, seriously I have only read the first page and im crying laughing so I will add my few that I can remember - DH is looking at me like I have lost the plot

If I swear or drop something in the kicthen or something DH yells out in his cockney accent - ya right
so I did it the other day and miss almost 2 runs in and says ya right? - so cute

She says bless you when you sneeze

Loves playing with her cellphone and picks it up the other day and says 9 2 double 9 - I cracked up!

Daddy is a bit of a football hooligan and Milla watches with him, she now says Gunners c'mon!

She is actually quite a comedian and daddy is kinda special too I think, and says to his little girl, your so cute, and you make me smile every single day - while I getting dressed in our ensuite - so cute listening to their little conversations

These are fantastic! :)

My two aren't real talkers just yet, but my 3yo nephew ...  we were at Nanna's and the kiddies were all playing in the kiddies room next thing we can hear nephew saying "no, no, mine, no, no, stop, ouch, ouch, no, no" I thought Daniel was playing up so went to check on them and nephew is sitting playing happily just saying the words!  (He has two older sisters)

DD isn't near talking yet, but godson at 2yo couldn't say t so would say f*ck instead. I had told DP about it. His mum a few days later was taking us to the airport when we were going away of course godson is with her and he starts pointing at all the trucks and going look f*ck DP almost went mental lol.

As kids when we sang happy birthday we always sang for she/he's a jolly good fellow, well younger bro didn't quite get what we were singing so it is now a tradition in our family to sing instead of and so say all of us "a horse on top of us" my little cousin has now turned that into "a horse ontop of a bus"
