I'm going to buy some clothes from Pumpkin Patch for a friend's 16 month old girl. Am I right in thinking that size 1 is generally for 1-2 year olds?

TIA

How tall is she?? As Josh is 17 months old and in size 2. But he is the height of a 2 1/2 year old.

Is she a big girl?

Not sure if I can really comment coz I only have my heffalump to go by ...he's 16 months and some size 2's are already getting too small for him

I know a couple ladies on here whose girls are 18months + and still in 6-9 month clothing and size 1's etc...

At 16mths Elle was still in size 6-12 / 6-9 depending on where it was from. She has since quickly grown into 1's and can now, at 23 months also fit a few size 2's but we have to roll the sleeves/legs. Providing you get something that can be worn in winter/spring I'm sure 1 will be safe. Most places are good at exchanging too.

Yeah Ashleigh has only just started wearing some 2's but still in mostly 1's. So I would def say to get a size 1 and then get one of their exchange cards too

Pumpkin patch clothing does seem to be a bit more generous than other brands.  I'd say you're definitely safe with a one.

DD is almost 3 and still in some size 1 Especially PP as there sizing is slightly bigger. Her size 2 pants are still miles too long.
If your unsure getting a bigger size means you can grow into them or fold them up.

Thanks girls. I haven't seen her in real life because they live in the UK but I don't think she's a big girl. I think size 1's will be fine, fingers crossed.

are you able to find out what size she wears in the UK and then convert it to our sizes?

At 16 months, Ashlee was wearing size 2 Pumpkin Patch and well out of size 1. It really all depends on what sort of build she is.

ETA: even if you do buy her a bigger size, she'll always grow into it. It would be a shame to waste money on something she won't ever wear, or only wear once before it's too small for her.

At PP some of the size 1 seem to say from 12-18 months and then the next size up is 18-24 months. But then again some clothes are from 24 month, so it seems to vary according to the item. Ella wears at size 1 but lately I have been stocking up on size 2 for summer and it seems to fit her OK now.

I will go for a size 2 as she will get more wear out of it. In girls tops I find there isn't much of a difference between the two sizes and always go for the bigger size.

Ella is 16 months old 85+cms tall and very slight at 10 kg....she wears size 2s from PP and JK and farmers mostly.

I would go the 2 - she can grow into it if itdoesnt fit but it is useless to them in UK if they cant exchange it....

I'd get a size 2, if she doesn't fit it now she'll fit it in a couple of months. That way she'll get better wear than if you bought something that she already fits. If it seems too big, go for 18mos size. Remember to account for the season in a couple of months ahead.
