I had to take Josh to the dr today and he needed antibiotics (apart from costing me $3 that is another grrr altogether). We came home and I put them in the draw next to my bed while we were resting in there (Josh actually slept 3 hours in there). Andrew went in there before and has drunk most of the bottle of the antibiotics .

I am so angry, that now I have to go back to the dr tomorrow and pay another $3 for another lot of them  I am so angry at Andrew at the moment.

Umm is there any need to worry about overdosing or is it not the same with antibiotics?

You gotta kinda laugh though, I don't often hear of kids that love medicine so much they sneak their brothers and nearly down a whole bottle lol!

It should of been free as it was for an under 6 but thats what I get for being in such a small place and needing antibiotics straight away.

The dr just rang me as he wanted to check up on Josh and I told him about Andrew and he has written me a script for somemore for Josh and is ringing the poisons centre about Andrew as he didn't know if it was toxic in that large dose.

OMG!    Hope Andrew's ok.

P.S
Why wasn't the medicine in a safe child proof bottle?!!? I'd talk to the pharmacy about that, that's really dangerous!

Far out I hope he is ok after drinking all of that . Yeah I was wondering about the child proof lid too..or was he able to work his way into it anyway?

I wasn't a childproof lid as it came straight from the dr. I was going once I had settled Josh go and put a childproof lid on it as I have kept a few lids from old medicene bottles. Once we get the new bottle tomorrow (if I can we are expecting snow ) if it doesn't have a childproof lid it will be getting one put on.

And he must be ok, just gave him a bit of diareoa(sp?) but he is now sound asleep.

Must be processing it!!!
I've never thought of reusing the child-proof lids for other medicines! The two ABs we have had this week just have screw lids and Briona can open them

Glad Andrew is ok.
Benjy can open lots of the childproof caps, I have to hide all our medicines really high and well!

I'll bet it gave him diarrohea! Mercedes has the runs something chronic from her antibiotics atm and that's taking the prescribed dose!

I usually find that pamol, brufen etc. have the child safe lids and come in those brown plastic bottles but antibiotics come in clear bottles or blue ones and just have screw lids. Either way I keep them well away from gremlin fingers coz I don't trust the child safe lids - child safe and gremlin safe are two completely different things!
