So which one? what are your thoughts about this and what do you prefer for your kids?

I was just wondering as toby has been quite sick this winter (again) and i have found that pamol doesnt really help him much but the nurofen we had did... also pamol gives him the sh*ts ...

I used to only use paracetemol cos it was free but it doesn't seem to work that well with Caprece. Jack refuses all medicine anyway so hes not a problem. I splashed out on some neurofen and it seems to do the trick. The best part is she actually sleeps after taking it. Jack would not sleep after taking paracetemol.

Never had to use either really except injections when Lucas was younger I used the free pamol I got the script for ...

I find panadol doesn't work for me EVER so I wouldn't be surprised if pamol for children didn't do much either.

Sounds like you should stick with Nurofen though Deb, whatever you think will work fastest and most efficiently, bugger toby having the sh*ts from taking pamol, id be staying clear if it had that effect on Lucas.

We have both, we usually give pamol first but if its bad we give fenpead. Both are free so no issues with price. I like that fenpead has antimflamatories in it so its great for when Daniels gums are really red and sore.

we use both too, mostly when ear infections are hitting, pamol unfortunately doesn't seem to make a 'dent' in my boys ear pains, so then we have 'brufen' (this is just the generic prescribed form of ibuprofen I think?) get both on script from doc so free!!!! :)

I use both as well, when the pamol doesn't work out out comes the brufen.

Same, pamol, then ibuprofen if the pamol hadn't helped. But ibuprofen is good for anything inflamed, so soothes something like a bladder infection better than pamol does.

What everyone else said. Pamol for general pain/fever but I use brufen when their ears are bad or they are all blocked up as the anti inflammatory helps with that.

Pamol here but I really don't think it does anything much. Paracetamol does absolutely nothing for me - never has.

I can't take nurofen as it aggravates my asthma, so the boys don't take it either. if i remember right, Jake has in the past, but Taine is more asthma prone so i steer-clear

I have recently learn't a lot about Panadol, as i am allergic to cocaine based drugs i only had voltaren and Panadol as pain releif after my c section, Panadol needs to be taken exactly every 6 hours, it builds up in your system and it is good! i took voltaren for a week then onto just panadol. If you just take one it does not work, by the second or third i think it has kicked in enough and it works really well! Thats all i know and it is the adults version.

Use both here too, they are both free and can be used together. They work on different pain centres so the effects can be quite different. If pamol isnt working for pain or fever I will move onto the fenpaed but for things like ear infections I have just given both from the start.
