I bet my current craving is the weirdest one here!

With Kiya: grapefruit & lemon flavoured Frujus, and Kitkats
With Josiah: french onion dip
Right now: there's a pot on the stove right now, cooking up some brussel sprouts that I'm planning on eating nice and hot with butter and salt! YUM! I can't wait!

So what are you craving? Or what did you crave when you were pregnant?

Yuck, I hate brussel sprouts.
With me first time round ti was cookie times and chocolate milk. This time round its plain milk (flavoured always tastes sour for some reason) and cauliflower and cheese sauce.

Its a good thing I like brussel sprouts normally! But I've never wanted them so much as I did yesterday, then I never had a chance to cook them after I bought them... then I started craving them again today, and so... Mmmm, they should be nearly cooked now!

Ok, so I like brussel sprouts, but crave them? No way!

ATM the only thing I am hard out craving is Fanta. Of course, that may be because I can't keep anything solid down But our recycling bin has about 6 empty Fanta bottles in it already

With Maya it was peanut butter and banana on toast and scorched almonds.

Oh I thought of another one, those little mince savoury pies. And fillet of fish burgers from McDees (and you all know how much I hate that place )

Mine's beer too... Oh, I'm just hanging out for a heineken. I keep asking my husband if he wants a beer just so I can smell it's delicious beerey-goodness... he's not co-operating though! (how ironic is that?!).
Mostly it's still food aversions though - hate meat, hate salads, won't look at a cut tomato.
I did find myself licking lemon pith when no-one was looking at one stage, and in the early days, I just HAD to have balsamic vinegar - even dipped my morning-sickness crackers in it once!
And I hear what you mean about McD's cheeseburgers - they've suddenly become a must-have (and they don't rarck up my meat problems, because we all know there aint no real meat in there!).

He he he.... that's pretty funny! I'm curious too - I used to think that that caserole stuff that came in the little sachets looked pretty good uh... not to say I tried it, though!

So I'm not the only one craving beer - has anyone found an non-alcoholic way to satisfy this one? I thought maybe I wanted the yeast, so tried yeast flakes (Bluuuggghhhh). If it were the malt, then surely I'd crave milo as well?

some of you have the most bizarre cravings............ BUT I think even thinking about eating the cat food Jax takes the cake (so to speak) It will certainly make meal times easier and a lot cheaper if you start eating with your "babies" hehehehehe.......

I had a friend who used to drink a Belgium non-alcoholic beer that she got from Liquor Land. Her midwife told her to have it to help her milk supply increase. I will ask her later in the week when I see her what the name of it was. I was the same with beer near the end of my pregnancy after not being able to stand the smell early on. I used to open hubbies and lick the top just to help ease the craving.

My main craving with both pregnancies was eating baked beans straight from the tin with lots and lots of pepper............ and the rest of the story is self explanatory!!

Posted By: jax
Date Posted: 24 April 2006 at 9:31am
I know the beer in question, but it's technically low-alcohol rather than alcohol free. They market it as having "less than 0.5%" because of regulations. I will confess that I've had a couple, doesn't taste too bad, but my midwife has a very strong anti-drinking vibe I've discovered so am keeping that kind of thing to myself Oh, and I think the name of it is 'Clausthaler' - at least the one that you can get in supermarkets here is.

Still haven't caved into the cat food thing though

last time i answered this i had no cravigns, but now it's different! I am now a slave to chips and dip, not just any dip, the onion soup mixed in with reduced cream - I had a whole big packet of chips and the whole tin of dip on Tuesday, did the same thing on Wednesday, and today I have reached what must be the lowest point - a large packet of chips and dip for breakfast in the car on my way to work! For once i didnt mind sitting on Aucklands motorway ! And I still want more, I just want it for every meal and all the time!...

and also now that i have read about the beer I am dying to have a cold beer shandy - aarrghhh! Usually i am stricly a vodka or wine drinker, usually hate beer, but all of a sudden after reading your posts I am wantign one bad! Must stay out of this post from now on!!!

I cant vouch for the cat biscuits, but the tinned food tastes like Sh1t!!!!

Not that I tried it on purpose. That'll teach me for going into the kitchen after bedtime, to have a sneaky lick of the knife which we used to cut the chocolate cake...I was expecting yummy gooey chocolate icing, but instead got chef chunky chicken! EWWWWHHHHHHH!!!!!

well my craving is really quite boring but I had to have hot garlic chips much to the disgust of my work mates in our open plan office. They used to moan their butts off about the smell - but did I care??? Heck no lol. Never get in the way of a preggy woman and her cravings!!

I did have a prob with raw meat too - hated it. Always made me gag. Once I was trying to cut up kidneys for my cat and I vomitted so much from it that I burst all the blood vessels above my eyes.   YUUUCCCCKKKK!!!!
