"Rural emergency number" is?
I'm filling in Ella's school enrolment forms (!!!) and there's a box asking for this. I have absolutely no idea what it means. There are other boxes asking for our home, work and mobile numbers and a section for emergency contact people and their home, work and mobile numbers, so I'm a bit clueless as to what they want in the rural emergency number department!  Already! But we were just at her birthday a few weeks ago!!!

Cos if you do you would have a red number just out by your letterbox, that is the rural number. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I was going to say the same as Becks - I'm pretty sure it's the number on the gate which isn't your address as such. From memory, among other things, it actually tells emergency services how far up the rural road (eg. 2.4 kms) you are. One of her kindy teachers asked me to do it the other morning, apparently they need the numbers of students for next year so that they can apply for funding for them or something??
