J used to LOVE the bath he always has but for the last week he is absolutly petrified of it!
nothing has happend to make him like this, he hasnt slipped under or anything, just all of a sudden if you put him in the bath he will scream and try and pull himself out!
so . .
i figured id get in with him and he would be ok so i got in and then as soon as i picked him up to put him in he went all stiff and started screaming, and literally tried to claw his way over me and out ,he screamed for ages, sitting on my lap i sang songs and splashe dhis feep around and he gradually stopped crying but if i moved him at all or moved my hand off he would scream again its awful to see
help!
ideas please

Not having been in your situation I can only think possibilities. Do you think it's the water, or the bath? Could he play in the bath with no water for a bit - fully clothed so he doesn't get cold. Or maybe shower with you?
Hope it resolves itself soon

When we moved house thre only thing that upset Amy was the different bath, but she wasn't too bad.
A friend's daughter freaked out when her dad pulled the plug whilst she was in the bath and she saw her bath toys heading to the plug. They went back to the baby bath for a couple of months (even thought she was over 2. They evenually moved the baby bath into the big bath as an gradual adjustment.
Have you tried your wee boy in the shower?? Or the kitchen sink - where I was bathed when I stayed with my Grandparents - older folk so couldn't bend over the bath!!
Good luck - it is not nice when something that is supposed to be fun and relaxing for them becomes a nasty thing.

Abby went through this stage and all I can say is persevere. She screamed until she through up if we tried to bath her. For a week or so I just sponge bathed her and then realised how ridiculous that was (she also hated showers still does).
In the end we started off with tiny amounts of water in a really warm bathroom with me in with her. We just increased it each time she had a bath and then I started sitting on the end with just my feet in. Within 5 weeks she was back to loving baths on her own and we have never looked back.
