I have nooooo idea what this baby is going to be called. If it is a boy we have middle names sorted (family names) but if it is a girl I have nowhere to even start. And we have to have at least 3 middle names *kicks herself for giving Maya such a long name*

I like Andrew and James, both good strong names. And Jorja Ella is nice for a girl too.

Ok so we have a top choice for either a boy or a girl (even though I'm sure it's a girl), and then *three* names as backups LOL We actually had the middle name chosen from the word go, as he or she will be named after Roland's oldest brother Alex. So here we go...

Top pick for girl: Sophia Alexandra Bird
Top pick for boy: Anthony Alexander Bird

'Backup' names for girl: Alyssa, Dinah, Kayla
'Backup' names for boy: Reuben, Gregory, Joshua

Only three more days to go !! (Til our next scan that is LOL)

Oh, and I'm still working on the idea of a second middle name (a maori one) but now I also like the idea of honoring a past family member... and especially if it's a girl, coz I miss my nana so much and wish she was still here

Well we Have been talking at length about ths and for boy(which I am sure he is) Will be "Harrison ? Baker" I do have a middle name, but want to keep it a total secrect ,and Girl "Kathleen Karen Baker" Karen is my MIL middle name it was very important to us to use part of her name and we did not want to use the first name. Cause that should be for her daughter to use.
Oh and I love the name Andrew it has such a cool meaning, but I can't remember what it is my little bro is Andrew.

We thought of a few names and name combinations, and then figured we would wait and see.
We liked Jake, william, Charlie, For boys, jake originally was going to be Jake Elwood Walter but we vetoed the Elwood (from the BluesBrothers), and Taine was taine William until we decided to use jason - who is a best friend of Lewis'. girls we liked Ella, Mia (but Mia Marama was too mmm aaa) but decided on Leah. We were tossing up Japanese middle names including Sakura, Aiko, Yuri, Sayuri. Maori middle names were mihi, awhina, aroha. Boys middle name would've been Parekeiha (family name)

I love the Jorja with that spelling but we had to let it go as one of our options because the poor child would have been teased considering our last name (Foreman)

My top girls names are Bella, Molly, Willow, and hubbys are Trinity, Brooke and Monica. The only ones we can agree on at this stage are Emma, Jemma, Breanna (Bre) and Chloe. Im not sure I have found 'the name' as we did with Kobe, he would have been that if a boy or a girl (spelt Khobi if girl) and I still love it. Middle name will be either Kate or Kathy as my mum is Kathleen and hubbys is Catherine so we are going to try to combine them.

funnily enough - when mike chose paris, we thought that would be pretty unique - but have founda fair few of them - but hey i thought that's ok, i mean it's still a pretty normal name.

here's the thing though. we DEFINATELY thought that Ayja, would be VEERRRRYYY unique - until my 2nd visit with my plunket nurse - who told me that she had had 3 other Ayja's just referred to her this week! - all spelt differently of course, but i thought OH MY GOD! how funny if they were to all end up in the same school one day or something like that.. am wondering if maybe one of the midwives up at the hospital told a few mums about my ayja and they thought that might be a good name... (lolol, cos it's all about me of course!!!) just kidding. it is weird though

while pregnant i had been keeping an eye on the paper on saturdays to check the birth notices and see what names were being used/overused etc... i didnt want to have a really common name, i remember in my classes at school there were always at least 2 or 3 sarah's, rebeccas, rachel's etc...    i thought i'd chosen the perfect name an oldy that i hadnt seen used for ages.... EMMA... hmmm.... since then, i have met a wee girl emma a few months older than my emma and heard of quite a few yonger! DOH! haha, must take better notice this time around.

i dont know of too many other jades in the area though, so hopefully she'll have an easy time at school.

man, i hated when my name was called and i didnt know if it was me or another girl!!

im going to start thinking more of names for this baby after tuesday (when i will hopefully find out if it is a he or she.) have a few girls names but NO boys names yet.

I am a bit of a sticky beak in here as I am not pregnant so have just snuck in from the toddler forum - hope you don't mind. I love reading names and seeing what people are choosing. I too raed the birth and death notices every week as well as the credits at the end of every movie and tv show.
My bub is Samuel Evason. Sam because we liked it and Evason was the name of the resort we had our honeymoon at. We wanted something special to us both as our parents names were Leanard Derek and Roy Ambrose!!!!!!! we couldn't really cope with either - no offence to anyone with those names or dads with them, just didn't excite us.

Girls names are so much nicer than boys I think :) Good luck to you all expecting your bubies! ( I am sooo clucky)

I agree!!! The more the merrier!! We've chosen Joshua Hadynn for our wee boy - Joshua because we loved the name, and Hadynn for my dad who who was killed when I was 5. I also loved the names James and Elliot. And for a girl we had chosen Jessica Ruby Adelaide - Jessica cos it was the only girls name we could agree on, Ruby for my nana, and Adelaide for Jono's nana.

What cool names everyone has!

If we have a baby boy we have decided (definate) on Noah.
We both love that name and his middle names will be my fathers and hubbys fathers middle names.

If we have a girl, we like Keisha and Emma. But we haven't confirmed a girls name yet.
I really like Ava and Mikaela but hubby doesn't. So bummed.

Lewis tends to ruin names for me. I liked max too, until he ran around the house "Max POwer - from the hairdrier."...sigh
