I have this memory of watching a kids tv programme when I was really little... it was set in a sandpit I think and it was all these little wooden toys. Elephants and stuff. The one I remember, there was a bit flood, and the train was trying to get through and then the elephants sucked up all the water....

Not playschool, really different to that (no actual people I don't think??). Oh, and Manu was a girl. I'd remembered it as a boy too lol, turns out it was wearing a dress lol. I liked Humpty. I remember one episode where Humpty's cousin from the country came to visit, and they went in an elevator (cardboard boxes) and in a car (another cardboard box). Weren't the 'snips' awesome. And their cellotape always sounded so cool as well. I used to pull cellotape off the dispenser at home just to try and make it make the same sound. I still love cellulose tape ... probably because of that!

Could have it had been Charlie Chalk, set on a sandy island where the only food was bananas, im pretty sure there was an elepahnat there too......?

Oooh! We had the exact same snips as Playschool! *Gloats* We used to fight over them a lot. 4 kids, 1 pair of snips. Not very good planning on my parent's part, and scissors just weren't as cool.

i remember Ponb. he used to spit all over the tv screen and then rub it in. I was older but mum's friends kids watched it all the time, then spat on the windows. Pob was grubby

Carebears was my all time favourite!. Oh and this programme, can't remember what it was called, but it was like a tv station that was run by children? and they use to act out scenarios...like that song " There's a hole in my bucket..dear Liza..dear Liza...." I use to watch that too but no one remembers it. They use to run up the hill to the tv transmitter at the start of the show aye? Someone told me i must be thinking bout mickey mouse club but it so wasnt
I was big on the Carebears movie and the american rabbit movie as a kid and playschool as a must -------------

Carebears was probally my favourite (I have all the available DVDs, all the beanies as well... I collected these in 2002ish). Haha.
I also loved The Ewoks (the cartoon version) with Wicket and Latara. The Snorks were cool too, I was down with them. I still have an episode of Playschool from the 80s on VHS. I loved Button Moon, it was my favourite!! We were allowed to come home from school for lunch on a friday and Rainbow was on at lunchtime so it was our "treat" to watch it. (I grew up in UK). My bro and I loved Fraggle Rock, Muppets, Muppets, Rainbow....Sooty....ummmm....Basil Brush....Blue Peter (lamo - but we loved it!!), Morph...
