Do you guys eat turkey at Xmas? Is it just that you saw it happening or the fact that it was happening at all? Just curious?

I wasn't fazed by it at all.. just thought it was a good fast death and none of them seemed to suffer. I was just wondering how great they would end up tasting once GR has finished with them

I'm starting to have a problem with it happening at all, though I still eat meat occasionally at the moment.

The reason why I am a vege. I see no point in eating something that obviously goes through pain in order for humans to eat.

I much prefer tofurkey....

Can you get tofurkey here !? I have only just started seeing vegetarian mince in the supermarket, though fortunately regular tofu plus vege saussies have been available for a while. Now to convince DH to eat them!

I managed to get it a year ago from a vege shop in Auckland, but they are no longer in business I had to pay quite a bit for it, but it was sooo worth it.

I just make my own now, from a recipe I got from a friend, which is as close as I can get to tofurkey, but just doesn't quite have the tofurkey taste bang on.

Vege mince has been in supermarkets for a couple of years now, but not all supermarkets stock it. I really like the Frys vege mince (which is also vegan), as it tastes great in my vege chilli con carne.

I've only seen it at our "local" Pak N Slave in the last six months? But then again I wasn't always looking for it either...

Mind you, the other thing I'd be slightly happier to buy is organic free range meat, but that comes with an even bigger price tag it seems!
