morning girls.
i need some advice from you mummies,
2 weeks ago Rhiannons inhome carer was sick, so I opted to put her with another carer...it was only one time but since then ive had a child who has stopped sleeping through the night, she has also started crying when i leave her with her normal carer and at kindy (she has never done this before going to this other carer), and she is always waking to see where i am....
im not sure what to do...do i talk to the person who runs the place or do i just ride it out, its really frustrating for all involved, as she even cries when left at the grandparents which has never happened...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
oh and im trying really hard not to point fingers at anyone, but this is the only thing that has changed in the last 2 weeks and i just dont know how to approach it

the problem is that she was only with that particular carer for that day, and has been with her normal carer since, but we have all noticed a change in rhiannon since having spent the day with the relief carer, and i just dont know what to do

I would suggest you talk to you usual carer (and kindy) and see what they suggest for how to help Rhiannon feel happier. They might be able to help you form a plan.
Sounds like something upset her with the other carer but I don't think anything helpful could come from approaching her about it.
Hope she feels better soon, must be hard for you both!

yeah i have spoken to her normal carer, i will talk with the kindy today, and i actually have a meeting with the supervisor today as well, for something else, but will bring it up with her as well.
I just dont know how to handle it...we have had 2 wks of tears and tantrums, and sleepless nights, i know i will just have to ride it out, but would really like to know what happened there that day

we've just been through something similar as we kept C out of daycare for a week so that she could get over this nasty flu bug.
I'd say she is just feeling insecure as her routine was interupted (new carer). Might just be another one of those "ride it out" things

yeah she screamed this morning when i left her, but as soon as i was out the door she stopped, she seems to be coming right again.
we have made the decision not to use an relief carer unless i have no other option, so hopefully her routine will pretty much stay the same for a while

We had similar to what Toni described, Kaz - I kept Erin out of creche for a week because of germs, and she has been having a bit of a hard time adjusting to going back - it is getting better though! She was quite happy to run off and play, but is now having a bit of a grizzle when I tell her I have to go do my exercise (gym creche), fortunately the staff there are fantastic at distracting her and settling her in.
