Just eaten lunch and not feeling too much clearer. yesterday took a couple of hours to dissappear. any suggestions or ideas?

Could be but it's more likely to be low blood pressure - very common at your stage of pregnancy.

Whenever I felt like that I ate something sweet (kept some barley sugars in my car). I think it was low blood sugar levels maybe? Always picked me up again though

This definitely sounds like low blood pressure and/or low blood sugars. Suggest you eat a moro bar or chocolate or something like that to instantly raise your sugar level and then ensure you are eating regular snacks/meals to maintain you throughout the day.

I have naturally low blood pressure (although being pregnant means my bp is normal for the first time in my lfie!) and your symptoms are exactly what happens to me when a) I don't eat regularly or b) I'm dieting and not consuming enough sugars (natural or otherwise).

All the best and take care!

I had this really bad during pregnancy especially during the last few months. I had really low blood pressure and even lower iron. I think mine was a combination of the two, as soon as I started taking iron supplements it got a bit better.
I found making sure i was drinking lots and eating lots of snacks helped. And avoiding walking far in the morning. Its a pretty scary feeling when you feel yourself about to faint. I had many time when I was out shopping where I just had to sit down or I knew i'd be out.

thanks, it was really scary today as i was on my own with my 2yr old in teh shopping trolley. iw as starting to get so worried i almost cried at the checkout. Dh said i was light headed last time when my iron plummeted, but this is different, coz i feel really yuck for ages afterwards. i feel all shaky so figured maybe having some sugar wasn't a good thing? and yet i noticed when i ate lunch, i didn't feel much better. yesterday was just after i'd eaten too. Mum wonders if it's low bp too. I'm also unusually (for me) thirsty for water water & more water. like, drank three glasses at dinner last night & same at lunch today. Now i have a headache & when mum saw me bout 1.30pm (happened about 12pm) she said i didn't look too flash hot. i felt all spaced out. kinda really worried bout it now actually....

sounds like what i went through at similair stage chonny, it was really scarey. i have felt faint before (several times ) but it was different. i couldnt do anything when it was happening, couldnt even walk from my couch into the kitchen- was soo soo yuck.
i went and had a checkup and my bp was highish but i did have very low iron. im not sure about blood sugars, i thought it might be that too so had those alan brley sugar thingy's handy and ate them- didnt notice any difference to me though.

Yeah it could be because thats what happened to me when my iron was very low, and then when I had my blood loss while having caden my iron dropped to 66 and i was very very light headed and felt like I would pass out if I moved to fast.
Some iron pills with fix that

thanks guys, yea my iron was real low when i had the 26week bloods done. MW wasn't concerned coz apparently that's normal for that stage of preggy. lol. last time i was put straight on iron tabs. i may find she does another blood test earlier to check them & shoves me on iron pills. started taking my iron melts again last night *reminder haven't had one tonight*

Thats odd your midwife wasnt worried...mine was quite concerned about my low iron, she stressed to me the importance of having a good amount of iron due to bleeds during birth etc
And in my case, if I hadnt taken the iron pills I would ahve been in serious trouble when I had my 1000ml blood loss during my c-section

I would definitly get your mw to send u for more bloods to see what your iron level is chonny, but you could start taking something like spartone or floradix, they will really help to make u feel better

floradix gave me migraines last time. yea my midwife last time was worried coz she called me straight away and told me to get the tabs. this time she said she will keep an eye on it as it normal to be low at 26week, if it still low at like 36 week, then i will have a week or two to get it back up or i'll be going to middlemore. deffinately think i will talk to her bout getting it checked again tho. i am taking iron melts,

ETA: Last time i was taking some healtheries ones which had vit c with them to aid absorbtion

I had a couple of faintng spells when I was 6 months pregnant and it was due to very low bld pressure. It always came on really suddenly, felt light headed, dizzy and my legs would give way. Once I was on holiday in Oz and was out shopping by myself. Was quite scary,as I didn't think I could get back to my hotel. I found it helped if I drank alot of fluids, as that increases your bld pr.

hi ladies, just thought i woudl let you knwo that mw said the feelings i been getting will be due to a sudden drop in bp & all i need to do is lye down flat & put my feet above my heart. So i will have to watch where i go on my own if i am going to be walking round or on my feet for a while
