I understand the happy/sad thing. Before we started TTC (and when the timing would have been horrible) we thought we might be, and I was really sad when we got a negative, and then a few days later AF. I think that, even though you weren't intending it, your mind goes into another space, and you start thinking of this little person that might be.
I hope you're feeling ok
And, if you weren't TTC, maybe this will help you decide whether you'd like to or not. It's sort of like trying to choose between 2 things, and saying to someone else "you do it" and they choose, and you realise that you actually wanted the other one! (I do that all the time ...hubby now refuses to choose!)

How long did you wait before you went back? If it was more than five minutes it could be an evap line - sorry to be a horrible dragon, but if it helps, in your shoes I'd definitely be testing again - splash out on a digital or something !

Hey Trish. I'd do another test if I was you, but generally, anything over 10 minutes has to be considered a negative result (I don't like saying it, but I have studied those damn leaflets upside down and backwards over the months!)
Good luck for another test, and good luck for next month if this month is a bust

Your not supposed to read a test after 10 mins due to either false positives or evaps if your still skeptical retest again good luck!!

Hi Trish,
I would definatley re-test. Do you know how many days post ovulation you are?
With Sophie I had no idea and like you were not offically 'trying' or 'not trying'. The first tests were very very faint and took along time, looking back now I would have only been 5-7 days post O. From about 10 days post O they came up very quickly. But then everyone is different :-)
Good luck,

Re test first thing in the morning, I think that is suppose to be the best time. With first two pregnancies I got positive results when I tested 10 days after doing the deed but with this pregnancy I tested at 10 days and it was neg (so went to a wedding where I had a couple of drinks dam it all) then did it again 5 days later when my period still hadnt arrived and it was positive. But yeah I think a neg will eventually look positive if you leave it to long sorry. Fingers crossed for you though

Hi Trish,
Just wasn't sure... but that was exactly our situation too. No period (I was still breastfeeding though) but I *felt* pregnant - did a couple of tests but the line only came up after a couple of hours. Continued to 'feel' pregnant and then 4 days later got a definite positive and wee Sophie is now with us!! LOL
Are you going to retest in a few days?
Am quietly excited for you
