Hi all, just wondering if it is okay to ski while pregnant?
It would be very early days, as in only just got BFP.
I have a trip planned this weekend and am about to get either BFP or AF, and it suddenly occurred that if I do happen to FINALLY get BFP I might be wise not to ski.
Thanks for any advice :)

Are you are a compentant skier? If you are then I would go and only stick to the easy runs.

Lol no I am a beginner and would be getting a lesson, and DEFINITELY sticking to the easy runs!
But being a learner I might fall over lots...
Thanks for the comments :)

Talk to the ski fields as well (or look on their websites) to see what they say.

I went cross country skiing whilst pregnant, we were on holiday in Canada and I was about 13 weeks pregnant, and though I am a competent skiier otherwise I wasn't keen on the big downhill runs. Definitely do a bit of research first and maybe ask your GP?

Remember, you're not sick - you're pregnant and if this is something you could normally do then I think you should go for it. Just take things slowly...and carefully, but I'm sure you don't need to be told that!

Hi, I went skiing when I was 12 weeks pregnant - I asked my doctor whether it would be okay when I first confirmed my pregnancy, and she said it would be fine - the baby is so protected at that early stage and so low down that even if you fall over it will be fine. She did say to keep off the steep runs though. If you only just found out then surely the baby is still protected behind your pubic bone anyway? My midwife also said it would be fine. Even my Mum wasn't worried! So I went, and I did find myself getting more tired than I normally would, and considering the less than ideal weather we stopped at lunchtime. I guess I would say go for it, but don't overdo it.

I was around 20-22 weeks prgo with DD when i went skiing though i never asked if it woukd be ok, i just went and took it easy. Probably wasn'T the best idea jumping on the snowboard, as i am not too good with that, BUT i have an overly energitc 2 year old now, who loves anything wild, and everyone keeps telling me it is cos i went skiing with her in there.
