Does anyone know where you can buy it?
Apparently Foodtown used to sell it but they stopped years ago.
I'd love to make cornbread but the recipe I have needs buttermilk.

I buy buttermilk from woolworths. I'm surprised foodtown doesn't stock it (I wonder if it's just that particular store).

I get it from all the local supermarkets, it's usually with the milk and cream custards

My grandmother always told me that you can make your own by adding 1 tsp of vinegar to 1 cup of milk. It sours it slightly making what is basically buttermilk. It has always worked well in recipes doing it this way. Hope that helps

It looks like this :
Supermarkets tend to not to restock the shelves with it until it's all gone. I use 'sour milk' when it's not in the shop

Thanks guys! I'm probably suffering from 'man blindness' i.e. it's right in front of me on the shelf and I can't see it
That's a cool tip about making your own. Just shows I didn't even know what it was since I figured it was really creamy milk not soured milk.
Yay! I'm going to get to make cornbread
