Dunno if this helps, but I was going to paint a mural on Daniels wall but decided against it, cause what he likes now, he might not like in a couple of years and it would piss me off having to redo it. So I got a nice big canvas and painted a train on that for Daniels wall. At least then if he doesn't like trains in a couple of years I can put something different up and if we move his furniture around its easy to move the picture if its in the way etc.

I just got the picture out of a book and copied it onto the canvas

Great idea Stacey.  I love the idea of doing a whole theme/mural in the girls room but as said things/tastes change

You could also look at using textured fabrics on canvas as well... maybe pick out a duvet set and work the rooms theme around that?

you can also buy removeable wall stickers that can be used to decorate kids bedrooms- the ones we sell at work (wholesale company) come in a variety of designs and we have a set of purple & pink butterflies we got for Ella's room.

You could always paint with magnetic paint, then you can put pictures up and take them off when you want. Or use wallies.

Hi there B&A, try looking at

www.ohdeedoh.com

- its an american website, dedicated to nursery and childrens bedrooms decoration and well designed 'kids friendly' items.

they have online nursery tours here

www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/home-tours

I have found it great for inspiration.

Hopes that helps.

If you still want to go with the mural idea what about getting pictures from books or colouring in books. I remember seeing a UK "Changing Rooms" programme years and years ago. they did a mural on all 4 walls of Wind and the Willows, they even decorated the furniture accordingly i.e. painted the freestanding wardrobe as Toad Hall. Can't remember where they got the pictures from by they put them on an overhead projector and shone it on the wall, from there they painted the pictures. I have always wanted to do that!! Maybe one day

Paperplus/books&more often have 50% slaes on there canvas's. They biggest ones are huge and $50 when on sale- I doubt u will need more than 2!

I have painted a mucral on one of Isla's walls, but it doesnt bother me to paint over if when we sell and move next year.

hi there B&A, i have recently painted my boys room. He just turned two. we painted it blu & on one wall ave a couple of hills with some vehicles (truck, bertie bus, fire engine & cars) as well as a duck pond. there are also a couple of planes & a helicopter in the sky. i figured it was a room that he not likely to outgrow for a few years & when it comes to selling for whatever reason, then we will advertise the house with it & offer to paint over it if needed. If you wanted to have a look at what we have done, just ask & i'd be happy to post a couple of pics.
