Wondreing if anyone can help. Ihave had 3 mc in a row - 10 wks, 5 wks and 4 wks. With the last 2 the first I knew I was pregnant was the bleeding which was mc. I had done urine and blood tests which didn't show +ve and began bleeding day 32. As this isn't "late" I think it's just a period, until it gets bright red, crampy etc and I pass clots. With my 2nd mc I went to the A&E and passed the foetus whilst there - this was sent away and confirmed pregnancy, but the doc said it was too early to tell on a urine or blood test. This last mc same thing - bleed at day 31 pass clots etc and am waiting for bleed test results to come back. How can you tell if you are pregnant without the signs - which are the same as period to me? I'm getting preg and mc before I actually confirm I am preg. I just want to know if anyone else has mc as early and how did (or did ) they know they were preg. I have been told by GP he will monitor me close next preg - but I only know I am preg when I miscarry....
frustrated and sad by all of this and just thinking I will never have a baby...very depressing day today - lots of tears...

Awwww *hugs*
I had an early m/c, thought at first that my period was a day late but I bled so very much (we were tenting and I went through everything!!! ). But when I passed a golf ball-sized clot, I knew I had m/c. A couple of days later I had the "baby blues" which is a hormone drop-off that usually occurs about 3 or 4 days after you have a baby - I only recognised it because I had already had two babies - and that really confirmed it for me.

None of the other symptoms (sore boobs, urinary frequency, etc) hold it for me because I get much the same symptoms when my period is due as when I am early pg.

ETA: the month after my m/c (was about 7 weeks later though) I had worse cramps and passed clots and heavy bleeding, but that wasn't a m/c it was a clean-out - I checked that one over with my GP because I was worried, but he said not to worry and just take panadol as needed.

So sorry for your losses.

A lot of urine tests can pick up HCG before your period would be due so perhaps you could try testing early next time. Early response can be used up to 7 days before a period is due and MDS quick cards that you can buy at new world pick up hcg at 25 which is really low, above 5 is considered pregnant but most tests don't pick up until the level is 50.
Even with my m/c I still got a faint positive on the Friday and my period wasn't due until between sunday and tuesday (I have a 26-28 day cycle).

If you start charting then you could work out where in your cycle you ovulate and then test 10 days later, which would be before your period but late enough for an early test to pick up. I have never charted so can't really help with that but there are lots of ladies on here that do and could help you with it.

Like busymum I also had a really bad period the cylce after my m/c which involved heavier bleeding and worse clots but the cramps weren't quite as bad as the m/c. I was warned by my gp that that could happen as sometimes not everything comes away with m/c itself, and I knew for sure that time that I wasn't pg.

oh sweetie big hugs to you

I think early preg signs can be different for everyone and maybe even for each pregnancy. It is a pain that they are so close to AF symptoms. Though I am sure it feels different, more twingey than crampy for me. And (TMI warning!) I get tingly/stabby feeling nipples with pregnancy!

Have had those symptoms this cycle but I am not sure how much MC changes your body/hormones so I am a bit less confident of reading my preg signs now.

I wish you a short TTC and sticky babe
