Does anyone have any bright ideas on how to break a 7 month olds addiction to being wrapped tightly for sleeps? If I leave my girl Riley unwrapped she just bounces in her cot and then gets way overtired and won't settle at all, otherwise she is generally a very good sleeper when wrapped. I would love some advice. Many thanks, Hayley

why break the habit if she is happy with it?

Have you tried putting her in one of the sleeping sacks? You can pay about from $20 up to $100 for merino filled fancy ones. They don't keep bub wrapped but because their feet are confined it isn't as easy to get around the cot. I assume tucking her in tightly doesn't work either, especially if she is a wriggler. I sometimes pop larger teddies either side of my bub to give him the feeling of being confined as such.

Im still wrapping my almost 6 month old. I have tried a sleeping sack but she doesnt sleep well with free arms. So I have started to put her arms inside the main body bit of the sack, so its like shes wrapped but loosely and cant get out of it - that sounds really mean, but much the same as wrapping

We wrapped Charlotte until she was 8 months- the insane routine we had to go through to get her wrapped up properly was just crazy! We had to wrap each arm and tuck the bits under her back then do another one around her whole body really tightly so her arms wouldn't get out. Even though we did all this she still got out 2-3 times a night so we would have to re wrap her in the early hours as she would wake herself up and couldn't get back to sleep.
We went to visit my Mum one weekend and she told us we were being bl**dy ridiculous- put her to bed in a gro bag and then told us to go to a movie. She apparently went to sleep after about half an hour and slept through the night and hasn't been wrapped since.
I think the things that may have helped were that she had a gro bag, we didn't let her nap too long so she was quite tired when she went to bed, it was a new place and a different really comfortable bed and that someone else put her to bed.
Afterwards we couldn't believe how easy it was a kicked ourselves for taking so long.
HTH!
