Were you given a Well Child book when Alexander was born? I found it useful for quick info in those first few weeks.
I also like the Thriving Under 5 book I was given at my first Plunket visit.

If you're not with Plunket, you can purchase it from Whitcoulls for a few bucks

There's also actually a lot of info in the Bounty book - I didn't look at mine until a few weeks after JJ was born and when I finally did I was all "ohh that might have been helpful to know a couple of weeks ago"

Heheheheh we joke about the fact that we need a manual!!

We find that we use our Bounty book and our Well Child book a lot, the other resource we use a lot is Plunket line.
