Oh god.. I should have known better than having everything go perfect!
My dress is missing in action. what happened is I got it from a lady who 'makes dresses' on trademe - 100% good feedbacks, all that crap. Anyway, dress took 42 days to make, and I was to allow a week for shipping. Did this all early etc. Anyway, so I was sitting here waiting and waiting and checking my tracking number - turns out that the dress is being made in China (which is also fine) on the 27th it was picked up from the makers, taken to shanghai airport and was supposed to go to beijing and then on to auckland. Problem is, the shipping company has no record of it actually arriving in bejing!!!
I have what, 13 days til the wedding - what the hell am I going to do?!? Buying another dress is out of the question - i just cant afford it, christchurch is really sh*t for hiring dresses, theres one place that hires in my size (24) and their dresses arent the nicest. I cant go to auckland or wellington cuz i am NOT flying anywhere ARGH!
Please dont tell me that I need to think about all the other nice things bla bla bla, I'm sick of people telling me that! I'm going to end up getting married in jeans ffs! HELP!

do you want to borrow mine?
i'll see if i can scan one of my wedding pics for you to look at.
it was a white dress, my mother made it for me... i'm sure i can post it off and have it there quicker than one from china... you may need to get it drycleaned and possibly adjusted to fit you...

Or http://www.trademe.co.nz/Clothing/Wedding/Wedding-dresses/Size-22-over/auction-174346060.htm - this one - says they are in possession of all materials.

I was about to sell mine if you want to have a look at it. Going super cheap and in no hurry for the money or you are welcome to borrow it so its an option if you want to keep it in mind and your dress doesnt turn up.

BooBoo - thanks for having a look :) The first dress I cant wear because its strapless and my boobs are too big (tried strapless ones on and they look rotten)
The second one is the same company thats made mine. All those girls on there are working for the same people (cept the australians) the dresses are all made in china.

Really! That sux, because it says they are in possession of all materials - which they obviously arent! Surely they cant advertise that they are when they clearly arent?

Man, im so sending her a box of chocolates.

Awseome! You're original dress will hopefully turn up before the new one anyway and then you won't have any stress at all.
Don't apologise for not liking them, I certainly would have struggled getting just any dress if mine hadn't arrived, you've got your heart and mind set on the one you've chosen.

OMG MissAngel. I know exactly what you're going through! I took my engagement ring in to be resized a fortnight before my wedding and found out a week later when I went to pick it up that it had been stolen from the jeweller it was one DH had desgined himself so couldn't just be replaced
I'm so pleased the woman is getting a new one made for you and I don't want to freak you out as I'm sure everything will be perfect but to be on the safe side why don't you take bizzy up on her offer to borrow her dress so you have a backup.
As I said about my wedding disaster there's always bound to be something that goes wrong and you're very lucky that it happened before the wedding with time to fix it. Now that you've had your wedding disaster everything else will be perfect
