Well, I must say there's nothing like a bit of retail therapy to cheer a girl up !

Even though it took me til lunchtime today to actually get myself together enough to get out of the house, I finally made it ! Got sucked into Baby City, yeah yeah my own fault I know... and of course spent WAY more than I intended *ahem* But you see, now that we know it's a girl, I *HAD* to buy some pink things ! See ?

The little heart on the front says "hug me"...

It was the only pink one left ! hehehe (all the others were blue)

Pink bunny rabbit rattle socks...

Pink baa lamb rattle mitts...

Cutest pink giraffe outfit ever !

(It says 'cuddle me' on the front, and is a polar fleecy type material, good for winter hopefully)

I also had a bit more pampering done, as a follow up to yesterdays haircut and color... starting with my nails:

And finishing with my toes !

I hope you ladies realise I had to get my foot up onto my computer desk for that shot LOL Glad nobody else was home to watch !! Hehehe...and normally my toes look REALLY gross, nobody but Rols ever gets to see them.

Anyway, I feel MUCH better now, but I think my poor husband is still in shock! I *did* try to balance my spending spree out by doing the groceries, don't know if it made him feel any better though... I think he'll be glad to come home tomorrow so that I won't be able to go out 'unsupervised' with the credit card !! Hahahaha... oh gosh, it's not THAT bad though - this was all (mostly) budgeted for (at least the pampering and the groceries were!).

Tomorrow I really am going to relax, and just potter around the house, and then before I know it I will be able to head out to the airport and pick up DH, yay

Love from your resident shop-aholic (aka Jax!)

ah-hahahahahahahaha............ i can just picture a preggo tryng to put her foot up on the desk pmsl

but i should talk,i locked xander andhouse keys in the car when we were about to go out somewhere.the only window open in the house was the small square lo window which also happened to be a louvre one too.nath had to pull them out one by one so  icould scalke the wall and squeeze thru this tiny square, all the while being 5-6months poreggers with harms and as 2nd timers know u get a biggger belly with 2nd babe.

My gawd I think retail therapy and chocolate can cure just about anything!!!!!!!!

I am at my peak this morning of missing my hubbie. With still 4 sleeps to go until he comes home I need some form of comfort I feel. Probably really can't afford the retail therapy and my butt really can't afford the chocolate

Loving the nails Jax, very cool!!!!

Heh, we have one of those giraffes, except it's blue and small and plays Brahms Lullaby. Your nails look fab! I've always wanted to get a manicure. Maybe I should pout at DH and see if he'll cave and pay for one for me :)

I thought it was familiar, I think I have seen the smaller ones before somewhere. This one has a squeaker in one of it's hands, which I didn't actually discover until I got home LOL !

I do have a confession to make - they're not really "my" nails, I had them put on an acrylic set so they could do the nail art as well, otherwise it would never last. The place I went to was really reasonable though (for Auckland!).

Getting a manicure always feels good, but I must say I actually enjoyed the pedicure more - I got to sit in this huge recliner type chair that had a massage function, and have my feet rubbed and toes painted at the same time ! Hehehe... bliss !

You are sooo funny with the shopping Jax. You'll have to get a small stroller that can fit int he shops easier...or what will you do? Ah ha. ONLINE SHOPPING!

Posted By: jax
Date Posted: 09 April 2006 at 12:25pm
Just to make things even funnier, that's not actually all I bought... I just couldn't be arsed taking pictures of every single thing, and stuck to the super-cutesy stuff

Spoke to my MIL this morning, and it looks like she spotted some cute baby girl clothes too and is going to send them over along with the gift money (that we already spent on bedding!), yay ! This kid is going to have a HUGE wardrobe LOL Considering the stuff I won from Janine is still on its way as well

Oh, and online shopping is the devil ! You should know better than to tempt me like that

he he - when you say you "won", it kinda sounds like a prize not something you have to pay for!!

LOL I know and I think that's part of the problem - the buying doesn't seem so bad when you call it "winning" instead !!

Xanda is wearing 00 now and he only 4 months. But it also all depends on the brand because in some brands he still wearing 000 and in others he wearing a 0.

Taine was in prem for a month, newborn for a while and now in 000 I think, but he has long arms and legs so sometimes I have to get weird shaped things.

Kiya was 3.54kg (7lb 13) at birth, and she has moved through the different sizes at that age!
Josiah was 3.18kg (7lb) at birth, and he was in newborn for ages, then has been in whatever size about 3 months after the average (ie, he's in 9mth sized stuff now, and he's nearly 12mths)

Interesting how different all our kids are, isn't it!

ayja wore lots of different sizes cos she was fairly lon gin the body with stubby little arms. te he he. but she is now in about 1 yr old size - the arms etc are alittle long but it what we have from paris so probably stretched too.

the stuff Jax got from me is all about 3 - 6 month size anyway for when its warmer.

thats another thing - I had lots of summer stuff for jake, but we went into japan's winter. I didn't even think of seasons. thanks to the difference in japan and NZ seasons, Taine and jake have the same appropriate clothes, despite being born in differing seasons.

Well, hopefully I will be OK for at least the first four months or so, but we shall see... gifts are still coming in as it turns out ! (Gotta love family...)

Am more worried by the creepy feeling I have that baby wants to come early - not super-preemie early, but maybe by a week... either that or just as she's due. Can't say how or why, instinct maybe? Feels the same as when we reckoned it was a girl.

Jax I was SO sure Hannah was going to be a week or so early, and I was a bit gutted when I had one week to go and still no baby, but she came on her due date.
