I have just discovered that Josh is flat footed and his legs are very bandy (you can see it in them when he walks). Who should I arrange for him to see once we come back from Oz. What I would like to do is leave it till we move back to Palmy and we go back under our old GP (I love him and he is so good with the boys), but I think that might be a bad idea. Any advice please. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Lucy is flat footed and her feet turn inwards, have been to the podiastrist, new shoes and new innersoles, this was all of last year, bit expense, due to go back next month, and her feet have improved. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

I am the same flat feet and feet turn inwards when i walk...

Innes Graham at Foot Mechanics is the guy who saw my feet earlier this year. Seems pretty nice. I don't know if at that age you could get a referral from a GP for less price? -------------  |

Also, we had a podiatrist in recently to talk at a group I run, and she said flat feet is the norm in toddlers/pre schoolers, she said it is important that they were good fitting shoes and not jandals/scuffs etc without bcak straps ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

| Well Jack has just been xrayed for quite bad pidgeon toes. His are due to a twisted thigh bone (which should self correct by 10 years), a twisted shin bone (which should correct by 5 years) and flat feet. The dr said they used to do all this treatment but it didn't really make them 'normal' any faster than no treatment. So have been told Jack is fine and doesn't need special shoes or anything and he may or may not completely grow out of it. He also said bandy legs and flat feet are very common in toddlers and most treatment is expensive sometimes painful and not always necessary. |

Sweet thanks, I will ring that guy Teresa and see if he is covered by insuranec. i'm not too worried about he cost as insurance should cover it. thanks for that Annie, I will make sure of that when we get josh some more shoes/sandals. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
