This morning I got up and left keira watching Franklin and ITNG while I had a shower.
I got out of the shower and something different seemed to be on TV, I just though Keira must have changed the channel. I was still in the bathroom getting dressed when the TV starts taking about Sex! I run out to change the channel only to find that this was still channel 2.

They have replaced In The Night Garden with a maori language programme which this morning happened to have sex themes.... I'm so anoyed at TVNZ right now! gaah

Thank goodness I gave into demands for Bob the Builder DVD this morning! I would send a complaint to TVNZ - not responsible broadcasting.

I noticed that too and thought it was a bit much for TVNZ at that time of the day. It wasnt subtle either.  Talking about needing a quicky to bring on labour.

LOL, I have to admit, the title of this made me laugh...what HAS Iggle Piggle been up to?

I didn't notice the sex bit, since I turned the TV off when I realised ITNG wasn't on anymore...bit disappointed actually, it's the only show my son likes (which is a good thing!).

Definitely complaining here! My girls were really disappointed, it's the only TV show they actually watch, and do you think I could find their ITNG DVD? Ugh, no shower for me this morning!

And seriously, who is going to watch a Maori language show at 9am? Certainly not the desperate housewives who are busy doing laundry, and not their kiddies if the sexual references are anything to go by, and everyone else is at work or school!

Bad call TVNZ!

Dumb!!! Ash loves watching ITNG. Luckily I put a Hi 5 dvd on for her this morning while I had my shower instead of leaving it on 2. Haha sounds like a few of us use it as a "shower babysitter" - maybe we should all write to TV2 telling them we'll all turn up on their doorstep all stinky and smelly cos we can't shower in peace lol!

I actually left the TV on this morning thinking it would be good for Joy to hear another language...but then she doesn't really understand what was going on. If she was older I would have been peeved like you ladies. But disappointing that they have taken away ITNG. It's quite a neat little program.

i've complained...

this is what i wrote to them.

I object to In The Night Garden being replaced with Korero Mai. Why on earth have you replaced a kids programme with a maori language programme. If you think our preschoolers need more maori why not put on an age appropriate programme for them to learn with.? In addition could you not come up with an original format for your maori language programme, i see the same thing on the Maori channel.
Bring back In the night Garden or a similar age appropriate program and leave our kids programmes as just that, kids programmes.

Regards,

Well done Deb, mine was similar - but I also included a comment about age appropriate content (ie sexual topics).
